We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Compliance Specialist to oversee and ensure compliance with corporate, employment, and VAT taxation matters. This role will be based in Dubai, UAE.
- This involves overseeing the preparation and review of external tax returns, tax packs, dealing with tax audits, planning, audit support, and VAT processes throughout Eastern Hemisphere within the Weatherford Group of companies.
- Tax support to the business, key support for tendering teams regarding all aspects of taxation when bidding for work.
- Coordinates and/or supports external consultants throughout EH with the preparation and review of Corporate Income Tax calculations and tax returns timely and accurate filing.
- VAT processes throughout EH within the Weatherford Group of companies.
- Managing the response and resolution of tax enquiries, tax audits, and tax litigation, coordinating and/or supporting external consultants.
- Implements tax planning opportunities and supports on cash repatriation managing related withholding tax obligations.
- Oversees outsourced tax working paper preparation and manages any correction measures required with outsourced shared services functions.
- Review of tax accounting reporting process for US GAAP purposes, including effective tax rate, uncertain tax positions, tax audit updates, and reconciliations of tax accounts or countries under responsibility.
- Continual analysis of withholding taxes deductions specially regarding intercompany transactions across several jurisdictions within the Geozone and outside ensuring right declaration and deduction coordinating tax certificates or documentation needed.
- Oversee employee's tax both from employment taxes as well as permanent establishment risk.
- Work closely with local finance people to provide training and ensure correct tax accounting.
- Compliance with transfer pricing regulations and assist with the preparation of transfer pricing documentation prepared by the TP team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related qualification from college or university.
- 3 to 5 years of tax experience within a tax firm or multinational organization (MNC oil and gas/other industries and Big 4 audit firms).
- Experience in tax strategy implementation and tax planning support.
- Experience in organization with business in several jurisdictions.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced organization.
- General good IT knowledge and skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and autonomously as required.
