The Mechanic is responsible for performing mechanical inspections, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards. The Mechanic ensures the reliability, safety, and performance of vehicles serviced within the workshop.

• Perform mechanical repairs on engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, and brake systems.
• Carry out routine services such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid top-ups.

• Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify mechanical faults.
• Accurately assess vehicle issues and recommend solutions or part replacements.

• Follow job card instructions and complete work within designated time frames.
• Conduct test drives and final checks to ensure issues are resolved before handover.

• Use workshop tools, diagnostic scanners, and lifting equipment safely and correctly.
• Maintain and store tools in good condition.

• Adhere to company quality control standards and vehicle manufacturer guidelines.
• Observe all health and safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.

• Record repairs, parts used, and services completed on job cards or workshop systems.
• Report any additional work or vehicle issues to the supervisor.

• Collaborate with service advisors, technicians, and parts personnel for smooth workflow.
• Provide technical feedback when needed.

To be a successful Auto Mechanic , you should have in-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, strong diagnostic abilities, and a commitment to delivering quality repairs. A proactive attitude, technical precision, and adherence to safety standards are essential to excel in this role.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following qualifications and skills:

• 4–6 years of experience as an automotive mechanic (dealership experience preferred)
• Manufacturer training or certification in automotive repair
• Solid understanding of vehicle mechanical systems and repair procedures
• Skilled in using diagnostic tools and interpreting repair software
• Proficient in both manual and automatic transmission systems
• Ability to read and follow technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and repair guides
• Valid UAE driving license
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to meet repair standards
• Commitment to safety protocols and compliance with organizational procedures
• Good teamwork, adaptability, and initiative to solve problems independently

Overview

To deal with the inspection, diagnosing and repair of Electric Vehicles using advanced diagnostic tools to identify the source of problems and repair vehicles using Fix It Right process, to provide unique customer experience in order to improve customer retention in compliance with BYD standards in DIP .

• Diagnose complex system faults on Electric Vehicles, through to preventative maintenance
• Support, coach and guide other members of the team in the workshop by advising diagnosis procedures and efficient / correct work procedures
• Ensuring quality by producing extremely low level of return jobs
• Developing high level of communication by ensuring clear explanation of the work completed or required is well documented and clear to understand by Service Advisor, Technical Advisor, Technical Support and the Customer.
• Undertake great effort to improve efficiency by providing constructive inputs regarding work process, procedure, work environment, tools and equipment etc.
• Making safe electric vehicles to be worked on by junior technicians
• Provide technical input to spare parts staff to assist in correct part and tooling identification and supply
• Maintain safe working environment for anyone work on or near electric vehicles, working closely with HSSE and providing recommendations as required

• In depth knowledge and experience of EV components and systems both high and low voltage
• Master Technician certification or industry equivalent
• Able to support, coach and guide other members of the team in the workshop
• Up to date with the latest technology used in EV cars

The role will report to the Aftersales Manager and you will be working in a busy EV workshop environment.

Overview

The role involves inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles using advanced diagnostic tools. Tasks include identifying problems, performing repairs to Fix it Right standards, and ensuring compliance with OEM and Al-Futtaim guidelines. The role covers the full customer journey in the workshop, from receiving a service booking call to handover and invoicing, specifically for Volvo in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

• Diagnose, perform general repairs, and carry out periodic maintenance with advanced general repair (AGR) and accessories fitment as per repair manuals to achieve productivity, utilization, and targeted hours.
• Create electronic warranty approvals in the Dealer Management System (SAP).
• Manage start-to-end customer interactions from receiving the booking to handover and invoicing.
• Proper usage of service tools and maintenance of the tools inventory.

• 4–6 years as a Light Vehicle Technician, including at least 2 years as a Diagnostic Technician; some experience as a Service Advisor in an automotive dealership.
• Basic knowledge of Electric Vehicles.
• Technical skills, customer relationship management, and tooling proficiency.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Valid UAE driver’s license.
