  • Foster a culture of strong collaboration between the factories, service units and functions.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Expertise

  • Refine and optimize field service procedures for downhole products tailored to meet diverse customer field conditions.
  • Collaborate with PID downhole product specialists to revise and improve procedures as needed.
  • Ensure all field service activities are documented by site personnel meeting company and audit compliance requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance to field service teams for inspecting downhole products.
  • Support QA/QC teams in resolving customer claims and conducting investigations related to service activities.

  • Verify the compatibility of running tools and accessories with fiberglass pipes.

Competency Development

  • Oversee the skill development and competency levels of field service engineers.
  • Design and implement training programs to certify engineers and enhance their expertise.

  • Ensure customer service expectations are consistently met or exceeded.

Field Service Coordination

  • Work closely with sales teams to monitor and forecast the demand for field service engineers.

  • When necessary coordinate temporary assignments of engineers outside their designated regions.
  • Maintain detailed reporting of all downhole service activities.

Service Development

  • Identify emerging service needs and work with relevant departments to develop new solutions.
  • Support global sales teams in promoting the service portfolio with a clear value proposition.
  • Define and review service contract scopes of work (SOW) as required.

Quality Health Safety and Environment (QHSE)

  • Comply with all safety quality and environmental protocols and regulations.
  • Actively report unsafe practices incidents or safety violations.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure consistent service quality worldwide.
  • Participate in QHSE audits incident investigations customer claims and performance reviews.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and the adoption of best practices within field service teams.

Communication Scope

  • Internal: Collaborate with field service managers PID project teams market development technical sales production and QC departments.
  • External: Work with end-users service providers contractors subcontractors and third-party inspectors.

Decision-Making Authority

Skills and Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor s degree in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering (preferred).

Experience:

  • 5 10 years of experience managing Drilling & Workover Services operations including resource allocation.
  • Extensive field experience in Drilling and Workover operations Tubular Running Services and fiberglass pipe manufacturing and installation.

The opportunity

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Field Service Manager (Service Operations). In this role, you will oversee and optimize Field Service Operations at Hitachi Energy Services - UAE, ensuring high-quality service delivery and customer satisfaction. The role also focuses on expanding our Field Service team in line with Service and New Business growth in UAE and other markets such as Oman and Pakistan. You will work closely with operations, training networks, and other departments to drive operational excellence and lead a team of Field Service Engineers. This role reports directly to the Local Service Unit Manager – UAE (LSU PGSV UAE).

How you’ll make an impact

  • Lead, develop, and manage the requirements for the Field Service Network in the UAE, including competence matrix, capabilities, and capacity planning.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within Field Service Operations.
  • Promote strong collaboration between factories, service units, and functions.
  • Lead site escalation meetings and oversee a team of field service engineers to ensure safety and quality in service project execution.
  • Participate in critical project reviews, monitor project costs, and flag overruns early.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, manage timesheets, and coordinate with departments such as Engineering, Sales, SCM, and Project Management for smooth project execution.
  • Measure team KPIs, report monthly, and implement corrective actions for KPIs not meeting targets.
  • Update the Service management team on the status of various service projects.
  • Ensure audits are conducted for the team and follow up on audit shortcomings.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for proposals, delivery, and project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Uphold Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for personal actions and caring for colleagues and the business.

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading large teams with strong leadership skills.
  • Customer-focused and result-oriented.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment independently with a strategic mindset.
  • Experience in the power sector (high voltage, transformers, grid integration, service).
  • Knowledge of power sector systems and technologies.
  • Multilingual capabilities and a record of complex project implementation.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

  • Provide update to Service management team on statuses of various service projects.
  • Ensure all the team / individuals are audited and audit shortcomings are followed up and closed on time.
  • Coordinating with internal teams (technical operations finance and legal) for proposal preparation delivery and project execution from time to time and maintaining contact with various suppliers & service vendors.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations procedures and guidelines.
