Overview of the role
The Vehicle Disposal assistant manager is responsible for managing the end-of-life vehicle process across the fleet. This includes overseeing the evaluation, remarketing, and disposal of vehicles to maximize residual values, minimize holding costs, and ensure compliance with company policies and market regulations.
What you will do- Develop and implement the annual vehicle disposal strategy
- Monitor aging fleet and identify units for disposal based on mileage, age, and condition
- Manage sales channels: auctions, traders, B2B, and export partners
- Negotiate with buyers to secure optimal sale prices
- Coordinate with internal teams for vehicle inspection, servicing, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with legal, RTA, and internal requirements during disposal
- Manage relationships and SLAs with inspection and auction vendors
- Maintain disposal pipeline visibility and accuracy using fleet systems
- Provide regular disposal reports and market insights to management
- Recommend pricing strategies based on market trends and competitor benchmarking
- Support finance in vehicle write-offs and end-of-life asset reconciliation.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Automotive or related field
- Minimum of 3 years in fleet - automotive
- Experience in remarketing, or vehicle sales
- You will be reporting to Head of Fleet Operations.
