THE ROLE
Assists the Program Director and Senior Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Manager in the overall management of the Occupational Safety and Health Management processes and systems. Lead direct and supervise OSH professionals and manage implementation of the OSH programs processes and strategies over a defined geographic area or a physical project location and construction projects worksites.
Overseeing daily operations related to occupational safety and health in the construction industry by effectively executing assigned duties ensuring the strict adherence to the Clients Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) management system requirements OSHAD SF applicable Codes of Practices mechanisms directives from the UAE Authorities and other pertinent regulations aligning with KBRs Zero Harm and Courage to Care corporate philosophy.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES- Coordinate the delivery of the OSH products and services to own Management Team in support of business acquisition and execution. Duties are likely to include interfacing with UAE regulatory bodies and authorities as well as client representatives.
- Frequently interfaces with peers subordinates and operations personnel. Likely to be required to participate in teams collaborative efforts as well as to work individually.
- Rational communication detailed narrative and emotional intelligence in dealing with complex OSH management issues that require in-depth knowledge attention to detail and sense for the moment.
- Pioneering the proactive and innovative processes within the Project OSH systems managed by providing a know how and directly positively affecting development implementation and maintenance of the project Positive incident prevention Safety Culture.

- Leading the OSH Incident investigations with experience and an expert observation ability to determine the root case immediate cause contributing facts and determine the organizational improvements to achieve the lasting corrective actions.
- Duties may span across all business sectors but are likely to be project or location specific.
- Monitors the performance of the own OSH Team as well as Supervising Consultants and Contractors with respect to the Occupational Safety & Health by active participation in the OSH monitoring processes i.e. OSH Inspections OSH Audits OSH initiatives and campaigns OSH trainings presentations etc. focusing on proactive measures and control strategies to prevent incidents and promote a work environment that prioritizes and emphasizes occupational safety and health.
- Coordinates with the Senior OSH Manager on the issues related for systematic implementation of the OSHMS for necessary and lasting improvements.
- Supports guides and leads the Contractors and Supervising Consultants in the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health policies and procedures.
- Liaison with the Supervising Consultants and Contractors OSH Teams to ensure an effective flow of health and safety information and implementation of the specific processes to include development and implementation of the action plans to improve overall Safety and Health performance.
- Regularly visits construction project sites to proactively identify prevalent Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) issues assess the trends and devises strategies/actions for immediate and substantial enhancement.
- Gathers the specific data and prepares the variety of the Occupational Safety and Health Statistics reports.
- In conjunction with the OSH Team reviews Contractors OSH Logistics Heat stress Adverse Weather Waste management Traffic management and Emergency plans MS/RAs and other related Plans and procedures prepared by the contractor and supervising consultant for compliance with existing Client and UAE Occupational and Health requirements.
- Provide Health and Safety technical expertise and specific trainings to the own programme staff.

• Conducts Health Risk Assessment inspections, including Walk Through Surveys, with respect to physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic and psychosocial hazards to ensure compliance with health regulations.
• Conducts ergonomic assessments of work stations and field operations, distributes information and explains industrial hygiene procedures and regulations to employees and contractors.
• Prepares Occupational Health Hazard Assessment Plans and suggests control measures to maintain exposure As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).
• Prepares Industrial Hygiene programmes, procedures and guidelines and a long term execution plan.
• Prepares risk matrices and work place monitoring records for Occupational Health.
• Prepares Industrial Hygiene reports to the supervisor and management.
• Identifies critical health hazards.
• Delivers training and awareness sessions on Industrial Hygiene and Occupational Health topics, to employees and contractors to ensure that they are aware of the hazards at each relevant function and level.
Monitoring & Improvement:
• Conducts monitoring of personnel in accordance with the company Exposure Assessment Strategy (EAS) and maintains updated records of the results.
• Updates the company's Health Risk Assessment as new information becomes available.
• Suggests modifications and new control measures to improve Industrial Hygiene monitoring.
Respiratory Protection and Hearing Conservation:
• Performs respirator fitness testing in compliance with company procedures.
• Documents fitness tests in accordance with the company's Respiratory Protection Procedure.
• Presents respiratory protection and hearing conservation training.
Hazard Awareness:
• Prepares an inventory of hazardous materials in the Refinery.
• Reconciles material safety data sheets for each hazardous material with unit inventories.
• Prepares hazard training according to the inventory of hazardous materials in each area.
Minimum Qualification
• B.Sc in Industrial Hygiene or relevant discipline with specialization in physical, chemical or biological science or a Diploma in a related field.
• The above qualifications should meet the eligibility requirements for membership of the American Board of Industrial Hygienists (ABIH) or another recognized international Industrial Hygienist Board.
Minimum Experience, Knowledge & Skills
5 years' experience in Industrial Hygiene preferably within the oil and gas industry.
Skills:
• Knowledge of the American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienist (ACGIH) exposure guidelines.
• Knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Association's Personal Exposure Limits (PEL).
• Knowledge of the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) exposure limits (REL)
• Knowledge of local and international standards for Industrial Hygiene.
• Familiar with general health and industrial hygiene aspects of a large industrial setting and associated utilities
• Ability to work effectively with multiple levels of operation and maintenance personnel
• Ability to generate internal reports and conduct formal presentations in English
• Skilled at instrumentation including real time monitoring equipment
• Knowledge of record-keeping practices and research techniques
• Computer literate
• Possess a UAE driving licence
• Good command of oral and written English. Arabic language is preferable.
