We are seeking to appoint a passionate and motivated Cover Supervisor who will provide essential support across the school by covering a variety of classes during periods of absence of the designated teacher. Our successful candidate will be responsible for creating and maintaining a positive environment for effective learning, through the application of the systems and structures developed by the school. You will play a vital role by ensuring that students continue to learn and make good progress on the occasions when their teacher is away from their class.
This role will likely suit you if you have previous experience in a similar role, providing cover within an educational establishment. We seek to appoint a proactive and organised Exams Assistant and Cover Supervisor who will play a vital role in supporting Sunmarke School’s examination processes and ensuring effective supervision of students during teacher absences. The successful candidate will work closely with the Examinations Officer to uphold the integrity, compliance, and smooth running of all internal and external exams, while also providing high‑quality classroom supervision to maintain learning continuity across the school. Key Responsibilities Examinations Administration- Support the Examinations Officer in organising and administering all internal and external examinations (GCSE, A Level, BTEC, IB, and internal assessments).

- Prepare and maintain accurate records of examination entries, access arrangements, and special considerations.

We seek to appoint a proactive and organised Exams Assistant and Cover Supervisor who will play a vital role in supporting Sunmarke School’s examination processes and ensuring effective supervision of students during teacher absences. The successful candidate will work closely with the Examinations Officer to uphold the integrity, compliance, and smooth running of all internal and external exams, while also providing high‑quality classroom supervision to maintain learning continuity across the school. This dual role requires exceptional organisational skills, a calm and professional manner, and the ability to engage positively with students and staff in a dynamic international school environment.
Key Responsibilities Examinations Administration- Support the Examinations Officer in organising and administering all internal and external examinations (GCSE, A Level, BTEC, IB, and internal assessments).
- Assist with student entries, timetables, seating plans, invigilation schedules, and communication with examination boards.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of examination entries, access arrangements, and special considerations.
- Help set up examination venues, distribute and collect examination papers, and ensure strict compliance with the regulations set out across various examination boards.
- Act as an invigilator or relief invigilator as required.
- Assist with secure handling, storage, and dispatch of exam materials and scripts.
- Support in processing and disseminating results and certificates to students and relevant staff.
- Provide administrative assistance for mock exams, baseline assessments, and testing schedules across the school.
- Coordinate and maintain the daily cover rota, liaising with Heads of Department and the academic leadership team to ensure all lessons are appropriately supervised.
- Track staff absences and deploy cover efficiently across year groups.
- Supervise classes during short‑term teacher absences, ensuring a calm, focused, and purposeful learning environment.
- Deliver pre‑prepared lesson materials, ensuring students remain engaged and complete the assigned work.
- Manage student behaviour in line with Sunmarke’s Positive Education (PosEd) ethos and behaviour policy.
- Record attendance and report any incidents or concerns promptly to the appropriate pastoral or academic leader.
- Provide feedback to absent teachers and Heads of Department on lesson progress and student engagement.
