- The System Administrator is responsible for optimizing the productivity of Windows servers and related components to achieve high availability and performance of various infrastructure and business applications hosted by the client IT Department.
- The System Administrator will work closely with internal IT teams supporting applications, Network team, Information Security team, DBA team, and business project managers, as well as externally with hardware and software vendors.
- Accountable for administering Azure Infrastructure, Windows domain servers, Exchange servers, file/print servers, and application servers, which are operational on a 24x7 basis.
- Responsible for ensuring very high system availability and being on call 24x7.
- Install, configure, administer, and fine-tune Windows operating systems and components.
- Provide second-level support to incidents and ensure their timely resolution with SLA compliance.
- Protect infrastructure servers from security threats by timely updating OS patches, security patches, and service packs.
- Participate in IT projects and act as a Project Manager for certain projects.
- Support and maintain over 200 Windows Servers (Physical and Virtual) deployed at Dubai Data Centers and international offices.
- Manage user accounts, group permissions across various domains, and a user base of 4,000 accounts.
- Manage internal and external DNS servers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve critical hardware and software problems.
- Monitor and test system performance, providing performance statistics and reports.
- Recommend and implement system modifications to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Define and perform system backups and recovery procedures to ensure data protection.
- Manage various tools including Engine Tools, AD Self Service Plus, AD Audit Plus, Exchange and Office365 Reporter, EmailTopia Email Response Manager, SMTP2Go / SendGrid, Active Directory, Server OS, Hyper-V, File and Print Server, Right Fax, Windows-based DHCP, and VMware.

Role Overview
The ideal candidate would be a Simulations and Systems Maintenance Engineer or Technical Operations Manager. To maintain the smooth functioning of high-end simulators and equipment, we would need someone with a broad skill set in both technical hardware and software troubleshooting, as well as strong vendor management skills to communicate effectively with the respective companies for repairs.
Responsibilities
- Mechanical Engineering Knowledge:
- Expertise in handling motion platforms, actuators, and mechanical parts.
- Ability to perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
- Electronics and Electrical Engineering:
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and power supply to ensure that simulators are operating within proper voltage and current ranges.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues in actuators, motors, and controllers.
- Networking and IT:
- Experience with network-connected devices like the Cisco access point and any other equipment that may be part of the simulation system.

- General Facilities Maintenance:

Qualifications
- Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience in handling complex technical systems.
- Experience in maintaining high-end simulation systems (flight simulators, racing simulators) is highly desirable.
- Vendor Management Experience to deal with multiple equipment manufacturers for troubleshooting, support, and repairs.
- Strong Analytical Skills to perform diagnostics on both hardware and software issues.
This person would act as the primary point of contact for the day-to-day running and troubleshooting of your simulation equipment and would liaise with manufacturers for support when necessary.

Job Purpose:
- The Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of the Department of Energy's information technology infrastructure, including the entire collection of hardware, software, networks, data centres, facilities, and related equipment used to develop, test, operate, monitor, manage, and/or support information technology services.
- Ensure that the Company's overall information technology infrastructure is compatible with and supports its applications; this includes hardware, software, networks, and data centres.
- Assist the IT manager in developing and implementing policies and procedures for the IT infrastructure.
- Ensure that all IT infrastructure activities are carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures, taking best practices into account.
- Propose and receive all requests for upgrades and maintenance performed on Company information technology and network systems.
- Monitor and implement programs aimed at minimizing network downtime. This includes the development of preventative maintenance plans.
- Plan and budget for network expansion to ensure that it complies with Company requirements.
- Monitor network performance and potential problems, as well as oversee and monitor the review of the Company network's functionality.
- Interpret requirements and supervise the planning, installation, configuration, support, and documentation of information technology and network systems.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, Information Technology, or Computer Engineering.
Experience:
· Minimum of 3 - 5 years of experience in a relevant field.
· Understanding of IT infrastructure including hardware, software, networks, data centres, facilities, and related equipment.
· Understanding of latest IT infrastructure trends, tools, and practices.
