Job Purpose:
- Management of working of GIS products testing department including PPA and generation of test certificates
- Managing the testing during the customer inspection
- Management of customer complaints – communication, investigations, and closure reports
- Ensuring adherence to the quality standards keeping in mind the health and safety aspects
- Carrying out activities pertaining to investigation of complaints, preparation of First Investigation Reports (FIR) for the site returned units, implementation of ECN’s, process audits, collection and circulation of PPA data, leak data and high voltage test data
- Liaising with various departments to effectively carry out the function of testing and pre-dispatch inspection.
- Liaise with Supplier QA & Fabrication issues pertaining to quality of bought out items and fabrication respectively
- Impart training to new recruits and upgrade the skills of the existing personnel in product testing team

- To achieve the SMART target set for quality team.
The position is responsible to:
Manage the day-to-day testing activities of Product Quality, develop opportunities to improve quality across the business, working closely with Supplier QA team, production team, Design and Technology transfer team.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
Minimum Education: Graduate in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Minimum Experience: Min 5 to max 10 years of experience working in similar area in Switchgear or any other Electrical Manufacturing Industry.

The Quality Control Specialist educates WTI personnel on the proper use and application of products, providing installation training both on and off the roof. They oversee large self-performed projects from start to finish, conducting intermittent inspections and performing post-completion inspections of smaller projects. The QCS will conduct regular job site visits during the project and after project completion. The goal is to provide consistency nationwide through proper roof repairs and the application of our products.
Responsibilities- Ensure proper execution and delivery of all WTI GS and GC self-performed roofing work.
- Provide a variety of technical and application training sessions in both field and shop settings.
- Provide hands-on application training and supervision of roof coatings and installation.
- Attend pre-cons on large projects. Be present at job start-ups to discuss the proper execution of the scope of work. Visit the projects at specific intervals to assess the completed work and provide any direction or corrective advice. Perform a pre-final inspection to ensure that the project has a zero-punch list. Perform final inspections when needed.
- Pre-project field inspections and technical support, including but not limited to:
- Peel tests
- Product testing
- Product recommendations
- Proper product installations
- Post project completion inspection to ensure quality workmanship and proper utilization and application of materials.
- Product diagnostic support to ensure that WTI is kept out of trouble due to misuse of products in the situation.
- Conduct roof inspections, providing written reports and photo documentation.
- Conduct on-site safety audits to ensure all safety requirements are met and consult with the safety team as needed.
- Review and train on large warranty adjustment projects over ten (10) man days.
- Communicate professionally both verbally and in writing with our Technicians, Foremen, Supervisors, Field Operations Managers, Regional Business Managers, Corporate Staff, and the Sales Team.
- Complete daily reports including DTA's, Safety Audits, Truck Audits, and QC Inspection Reports as necessary and applicable.
- Complete weekly/monthly activity reports as requested.
- Support the region as needed when weather conditions prevent the fulfillment of daily job responsibilities.
- Facilitate training in a classroom setting.
- All other Quality Control Inspection-related tasks or training as assigned by the manager.
- Travel predominantly within the assigned territory and nationally as needed, and complete and submit expense reports on a timely basis.
Experience
- 5+ years of roofing, roofing repair, troubleshooting, or field service experience.
- Working knowledge of commercial roofing systems, including built-up, modified, single ply, and metal.
- Working knowledge of roof coating systems.
- Strong roofing or building science mechanical aptitude.
- Prior experience in a field service leadership role.
- Practical computer application literacy (including Microsoft Office Suite and learning the necessary internal business systems).
- In-depth technical understanding and extensive hands-on knowledge of the applications of products. Intimate knowledge of our product line.
- This position is an autonomous role and requires self-motivation to manage a high level of independence.
- Strong work ethic and ability to multitask.
