Overview
The Engineer Course Design role covers the entire spectrum of the UAE SAT process from analysis, design, and delivery if required. The Specialist works closely with platform Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop individual blocks of work for each phase of the UAE SAT process. If responsible for analyzing a particular job, they will coordinate to ensure the designs of the Course Training Plans align with UAE SAT methodology. The Specialist acts as a training consultant for internal and external customers.
The position may require local travel and working from multiple locations, as dictated by the Analysis / Development plan, priorities set by the Training Management Committee, and the Training Development Manager.
Also responsible for:
- Develop policies and procedures related to training program design, including Assessment Plans, technical content documentation, and training delivery.
- Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) activities.
- Plan and manage Job Task Analysis (JTA) visits and meetings.
- Perform training scoping studies.
- Conduct JTA interviews and observations.
- Identify, analyze, and document job duties, tasks, sub-tasks, performance standards, and conditions.
- Determine qualifications, experience, and personal qualities required for roles.
- Analyze and write job descriptions and specifications.
- Identify JTA and training findings and prepare reports with recommendations.
- Identify, analyze, and document formal training requirements.
- Develop Training Performance Statements (TPS) using Training Factors Analysis (TFA).
- Categorize training activities via Difficulty, Importance, and Frequency (DIF) analysis.
- Define Knowledge, Skills, and Attitude (KSA) changes necessary for effective training design.
- Document course prerequisites.
- Proofread and edit documentation for quality and clarity.
- Familiarity with Instructional analysis procedures.
- Plan and design instructional/technical training, including curriculum development and delivery methods such as e-learning, classroom, and practical activities.
- Develop training materials in collaboration with technical SMEs, ensuring alignment with company standards.
- Coordinate with internal and external partners to update training materials based on latest aircraft specifications and standards.
- Create training utilizing the UAE SAT model of Instructional Systems Design.
- Ensure training materials comply with UAE SAT Manual and GAL Policies.
- Prepare visual and teaching aids for training delivery.
- Deliver training to GAL and UAE Armed Forces personnel as needed.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in training development and delivery.
- Stay updated with new analysis, development, and assessment tools/software.
- Prepare and report MIS statements and reports timely and accurately.
