Job Description: Inventory Clerk / Specialist
Objective: To manage all aspects of inventory, from sourcing and purchasing products to managing stock levels and ensuring accurate online and in-store representation.
I. Daily Inventory Management
- Conduct Daily Stock Takes: Perform daily counts of inventory to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Perform Stock Adjustments: Update the inventory system to reflect any discrepancies, damages, or losses found during stock counts.
- Code & Organize Products: Assign unique codes (SKUs) to all new products for easy tracking and identification.
- Communicate with Sales Staff: Liaise with the sales team daily to understand product requirements, sales trends, and stock needs.
II. Procurement & Supply Chain Management
- Source & Negotiate with Suppliers:
- Communicate with suppliers from both local and international markets.
- Negotiate product prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Place Purchase Orders: Order products on behalf of the shop based on sales data and inventory needs.
- Manage End-to-End Logistics:
- Arrange all shipping and logistics, from the supplier until the products land in the store.
- Coordinate both international shipments and local pick-ups/drop-offs.
- Handle Shipping Documentation: Prepare and arrange all necessary shipping documents, including invoices and packing lists.
III. Pricing & Online Management
- Determine Product Costing: Calculate the landed cost for all products.
- Set Retail Prices: Establish appropriate retail pricing for all in-stock products to ensure profitability.
- Update Company Website: Keep the company's website updated with new products, stock status, and pricing.
Required Background: Previous experience in a retail environment is essential for this role.
