The Inventory Manager – Operations is responsible for leading inventory governance, optimization, and reporting across multiple divisions. The role ensures stock accuracy, minimizes liability exposure, and supports financial and operational performance. Acting as a key liaison between functional and sales division, this position drives inventory integrity, reporting excellence, and cross-functional decision-making. This role ensures the integrity of stock data through the preparation of block stock reports, validation of high-value stock adjustments, and submission of monthly inventory write-off reports. A critical focus includes analysing aging blocked stock to assess liability exposure and support financial reporting. The position requires close collaboration with Finance and Retail teams to deliver timely, accurate insights that enhance inventory governance and operational efficiency.

- Inventory Governance & Risk (blocked stock, liabilities, provisions, obsolescence).
- Inventory Optimization & Control (stock balancing, demand alignment, production & spare parts coordination).

Primary Responsibilities:
Aging Blocked Stock & Liability Insights
- Partner with key stakeholders & regular aging analysis of blocked stock to identify trends and risks.
- Assess the financial impact of inventory activities, including potential write-offs and required provisions.
- Recommend strategies and collaborate cross-functionally to resolve blockages.
- Review physical inventory to identify obsolete or incomplete items, evaluating whether missing components can be sourced to complete product or if the items should be classified as a liability.
- Ensure correct allocation to divisions and cost centres, with a focus on showroom stock takes and central high-value items.
- Prepare and distribute block stock reports summarizing current stock levels and liabilities.
- Provide insights to management into aging blocked stock and associated financial risks, including obsolescence and capital lock-in. Submit reports to Finance and Retail management for review and reconciliation.
Inventory control:
- Analyse Over stock/ out of stock regularly and communicate to purchasing teams to move shipments to ensure optimum inventory levels.
- Analyse sale trends and adjust inventory levels across entities to ensure optimal stock availability, while minimizing excess inventory.
- Liaise with production team to analyse sale performance of items produced in-house and align inventory levels with current and projected demand.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to review spare parts consumption and adjust stock levels accordingly to ensure optimal and timely availability.
- Create relevant reports for key stakeholders to enabling data-driven decision making.
- Deliver other tasks as assigned by the Line Manager / Department Head.
