We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Senior Service Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for the execution of SLA Programs, retrofit upgradations, extensions, and modifications of control and protection systems for assignments classified as medium or high complexity.
As a Senior Service Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all site activities are completed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
- Represent the Service Engineering function at project and customer meetings, contributing to the creation of the project execution philosophy and plan.
- Support continuous improvement of project processes and product/system design through provision of lessons learned feedback and issuing claims (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, risk quantifications, etc.).
- Support the tendering team to estimate efforts required for service engineering activities and create work plans for work in own area of responsibility, proactively managing this work to deliver agreed programs on time, on quality, and at targeted costs.
- Conduct risk and opportunity assessments in real-time during execution of service engineering activities to ensure safe implementation of the project philosophy and identification of potential variation requests to support contract claims.
- Report early any contract/quality/program/cost issues to management, along with recommendations for resolution.
- Ensure that the company is presented as a professional organization in all interactions with customers, interfacing with customers and external providers for approval of plant acceptance criteria, open issues closure, and acceptance tests, coordinating site activities focused on finalizing customer acceptance certification.
- Manage external organizations providing a Service Engineering team with equipment, systems, or services (e.g., issues permitting work), providing guidance on health and safety requirements and work practices, accepting completion of works done.
- Actively develop and coach colleagues, cultivating a network of engineering colleagues both within and outside own business unit, taking initiative to develop and improve service offerings and solutions.
- Follow and provide feedback on standard processes and tools, ensuring implementation of agreed processes and procedures to ensure that all site activities comply with required safety regulations and satisfy contractual requirements.
- Prepare project documentation such as schedules, SATs, MoS, RA, site visit reports, incident reports, RCA, etc., in coordination with TL and PM.
**Required Skills and Qualifications**
- A bachelor's degree or master's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge and experience of substation control and protection systems for EHV, HV, and MV systems, including protection philosophies of busbar, line, transformer, reactor, capacitor, coupler, section, etc.
- In-depth product knowledge of both Hitachi Energy and competitor IEDs.
- Knowledge and experience on MS Office, IET, ITT, PCM, MiCOM, Digsi, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of protection philosophies, control and interlocking logics in substations.
- Intermediate knowledge of OT cybersecurity requirements.
- Ability to lead and manage technicians.
