What your day will look like
The OpenSearch team is responsible for the automation of OpenSearch operations. This includes ensuring fault-tolerant replication, TLS, installation, and much more; but also provides domain-specific expertise on the actual data system to other teams within Canonical. This role is focused on the creation and automation of features of data platforms, not analysing the data in them.
- Collaborate proactively with an internationally distributed team

- Debug issues and interact with upstream communities publicly

What You'll Do- Develop and maintain responsive, interactive web applications using or similar frameworks.
- Work closely with backend engineers to integrate UI components with server-side logic.
- Ensure our applications are accessible, performant, and SEO-friendly.
- Collaborate on the design, prototyping, and implementation of new features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, following best practices.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge.
- Stay updated with the latest web technologies to continuously improve our product.
- 3+ years of experience in frontend development with a focus on or similar libraries.
- Experience with UI/UX design principles and a portfolio that demonstrates your work.
- Familiarity with Tailwind and ShadCN frameworks for building responsive layouts.
- Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand) and data-fetching libraries (e.g., React Query).
- Knowledge of RESTful APIs to connect frontend with backend services.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment and communicate effectively.
- Understanding of performance optimisation techniques for web applications.
