Perform all analytical testing for process streams, sampling, maintenance, and HSE related samples according to internationally accepted standard methods for quality assurance.

Minimum Qualification: Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant field.

1. Perform a variety of quantitative and qualitative laboratory tests and analysis in accordance with established testing methods and instructions.
2. Collect samples from the plant using internationally accepted standard sampling procedures to produce precise & reliable data to support research studies.
3. Receive sample list and enter the test analytical results using the computerized Laboratory Information System (LIMS) and Business Object reporting software to ensure accuracy.
4. Prepare and standardize chemical reagents used in day-to-day working of the laboratory tests and on-line analyzers.
5. Report any instrument operating faults and apparatus damage to the immediate shift supervisor.
6. Monitor the correct implementation of the sampling procedures and schedules to ensure equipment functions properly and reliable results obtained.
7. Check and carry out trial runs on newly installed and/or repaired laboratory apparatus and analyzers to ensure proper functioning and accuracy of delivered items.
8. Update inventory records of chemicals, calibration reference materials, calibration gases, inert gases, equipment spares, and consumables to ensure timely replenishment.

We are hiring a skilled Soil & Material Lab Technician to perform laboratory and field testing of soil aggregate concrete asphalt and other construction materials. The technician will be responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of materials with industry standards and project specifications.

• Conduct physical and chemical testing of soil aggregates concrete and asphalt in accordance with ASTM BS or AASHTO standards.
  

• Collect field samples and perform on-site tests such as density compaction and moisture content.
  

• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including sieves ovens compression testing machines and other instruments.
  

• Prepare test reports and documentation for quality control and compliance records.
  

• Ensure calibration and routine maintenance of lab instruments.
  

• Follow safety and quality assurance protocols during testing procedures.
  

• Support geotechnical engineers in field investigations and site sampling activities.
  

• Maintain accurate logs of samples test results and laboratory activities.
  

• Diploma or ITI in Civil Engineering Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
  

• 2 to 5 years of experience in soil and material testing preferably in a construction or geotechnical lab environment.
  

• Good knowledge of international testing standards (ASTM AASHTO BS).
  

• Ability to prepare and interpret lab test reports accurately.
  

• Familiarity with geotechnical and construction material testing procedures.
  

• Attention to detail organizational skills and basic computer literacy.

Research and scholarly activity in the Arts and Humanities is creative and collaborative, spanning the disciplines to better understand the human experience through works of art and literature.

The Role

Arts Professor Joanna Settle seeks a research assistant for 3 years to coordinate and contribute to her ongoing research projects and laboratories for performance visual arts and curation. This job is an opportunity to be involved in the development of both creative projects and the infrastructure required to support and advance artistic work. Additionally, this kawader fellow will be involved in supporting/developing Professor Settle's classes and will gain perspective on arts pedagogy.

Professor Settle has several new collaborative projects in the US, Europe, Asia, and UAE in development. As her research assistant, the successful candidate will intersect with these projects and may attend biennials and other creative convenings with Professor Settle as appropriate.

The candidate will also work on individualized research projects under the supervision/mentorship of the supervisor.
