The Role

Looking for a positive, driven and inspirational Deputy Head Teacher to join the team.

• Hold a bachelor’s degree and a post-graduate qualification in education.
• Have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Trained in British Curriculum or International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.
• Have a proven record of raising attainment and improving progress.
• Have an excellent understanding of teaching and learning.
• Be proficient in the development and adaptation of curriculum in a key subject.
• Have a proven track record of excellent classroom and pedagogical practice.
• Have previous experience in a position of responsibility as a middle leader / senior leader.
• Experience of leading a team and working with various teams.
• Have excellent communications skills – both spoken and written.
• Strong and proven pedagogical understandings, based on research and best practice.
• Experience as Deputy Head Teacher or equivalent role.
• Experience of using Google suite, e.g., Google classroom.

Welcome to RAK Academy. We have been delivering international education in the beautiful emirate of Ras Al Khaimah since 1975. Primary Teacher • RAK Academy - Khuzam, Middle East, Ras al Khaimah, Khuzam

Lead Teacher - Secondary Grades 7-8

This role requires an experienced educational professional to lead and guide students in Grades 7-8 at a British curriculum school.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a stimulating learning environment, leading academic staff, and ensuring student outcomes meet high standards.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Develop a dynamic working environment that fosters engagement and achievement among students of all abilities.
2. Manage and supervise the academic staff assigned to the Section, working closely with senior leaders.
3. Allocate tasks and duties to academic staff, taking into account the needs of the Section and the School's objectives.
4. Support Subject Coordinators in teaching and learning, promoting excellence in educational practices.
5. Oversee Section operations , collaborating with colleagues across the school to achieve efficient results.
6. Contribute to resource planning to ensure effective use of resources.
7. Maintain disciplinary methods consistent with the School's code of conduct.
8. Advise on policy development and assist senior leaders in managing School resources.

Requirements:

An ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree with B.Ed. and have a minimum of 1-2 years of UAE experience in teaching or leadership roles within British curriculum schools.

Key Competencies:

• Knowledge of KHDA inspection and assessment frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.
• Strategic planning expertise.
• Understanding of child care and protection policies and health and safety protocols.
• Experience in developing and sustaining high-performance teams.
