The Role
As Assistant Head Teacher (Data and Assessment), you will play a pivotal role in driving academic excellence, overseeing timetabling, assessment, examinations, and data systems across school. You will ensure that our students make outstanding progress, while providing teachers and leaders with the tools, systems, and insights to deliver the very best outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of a high quality timetable and effective deployment of staff and resources.
- Overseeing and assuring assessment and reporting systems, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all subject areas.
- Managing the scheduling and delivery of internal and external examinations.
- Leading staff cover processes, academic review days, parents' evenings, and benchmarking assessments.
- Supporting the school's inspection readiness, UAE National Agenda priorities, and wider school improvement planning.
- Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of student performance data across all subjects and year groups.
- Lead on internal and external assessment processes, including baseline assessments, mock exams, and official exams.
- Develop systems for timely, accurate, and meaningful feedback to students, parents, and staff.
- Use data trends to identify underachievement and guide intervention strategies
- Lead the development and implementation of the school's assessment, data, and reporting policies, including international and national assessments
- Support senior leadership in using data to set targets, track progress, and inform strategic decisions
- Present data findings at leadership meetings and governor panels, highlighting areas for improvement and success
- Promote a culture of data literacy across the school, providing training and support to staff on data use and interpretation.
- Collaborate with heads of departments, pastoral leaders, and other key stakeholders to ensure effective data use
Skills
- A degree in Education and recognised teaching qualifications.
- Significant teaching experience with a proven record of successful middle or senior leadership.
- Strong expertise in curriculum, assessment, and pastoral practices.
- Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- The ability to lead, mentor, and motivate teams to achieve excellence.
