The Production Engineer applies their conceptual knowledge of Production and, with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward Production problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures and building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Production Engineer understands critical business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations by analyzing possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
+ Review project scope of work, schedules, and specifications; understand the requirements and deliverables
+ Prepare Scope of Work and Task Listing
+ Review the fabrication schedule and suggest corrections to the planning team
+ Review drawings for constructability and identify any special items/subcontract requirements
+ Review monthly material reports. Ensures and raises problems with material delivery
+ Review the material requisitions prior to the order
+ Check grade, plate sizing assumptions
+ Initiate site queries to utilize available material (substitutions)
+ Provide field guidance and ensure compliance with Company specification
+ Attend production meetings and report concerns
+ Monitor scope changes and Production revision orders
+ Report weekly fabrication progress and monitor production man-hours and productivity
+ Review four weeks look ahead plans and identify the constraints (material/drawings)
+ Coordinate with the construction engineer to ensure procedures are issued timely/ all parties understand any change
+ Coordinate any sub-contract scope
+ Review as-built drawings
+ Coordinate materials movements within the yard
+ Coordinate with shop/erection floor planning to ensure compliance with the project plan.
+ Approve relevant fabrication drawings and review Work Pack deliverables in accordance with Work Pack Index
**Essential Qualifications and Education:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
+ 3+ years of experience in oil and gas with major contractor or consultant
+ Familiar with the content and application of API RP2A, AISC, and AWS
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to production processes and facilities

They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the production discipline. The Senior Production Engineer solves complex problems and uses their discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Senior Production Engineer impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the production team and other related teams and ensures that they are working within the appropriate guidelines and policies.
**Key Tasks and Responsibilities:**
+ Supervise discipline production engineer including identification of production engineer resource needs for the project and communication of these regularly to the Division Production
+ Understand the full contractual scope of work, contract type, and milestone schedule managing the progress and reporting on the project
+ Review constructability and ensure the work execution plan is based on the most productive option
+ Responsible for fabrication 4WLA including the prioritization of materials and drawings to suit and chairing the production 4WLA and forecast fabrication and engineering requirements to meet the project contract schedule
+ Responsible for initiating and approving all revisions orders and change orders ensuring incorporation into the global lessons learned database
+ Solve technical problems and initiate site queries to ensure work disruption is minimized and productivity is optimized
+ Chair the weekly project production meeting, managing the project's weekly fabrication progress and productivity and ensure is within budget
+ Manage any scope of work changes and ensure AFC estimate is up to date and that revision and change orders are initiated

Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and class standards for pleasure craft.
- Engineer complex exterior fittings (glass, insulation, life-saving appliances) in line with norms.
- Manage material sourcing, supplier coordination, BoMs, logistics, and lead times.
- Prepare and review accurate installation drawings for production.
- Supervise and follow up during production to ensure quality and process standardization.
- Provide technical support and after-sales assistance for installed fittings.
- Proficient in English with strong communication skills for supplier management.

Job DescriptionJob Overview
The Senior Production Engineer uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external issues to improve the production discipline within McDermott. They will act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and share their conceptual and practical expertise related to the production discipline. The Senior Production Engineer solves complex problems and uses their discipline-specific knowledge to improve their products or services. The Senior Production Engineer impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities with the production team and other related teams and ensures that they are working within the appropriate guidelines and policies.
ResponsibilitiesKey Tasks and Responsibilities
- Supervise discipline production engineer including identification of production engineer resource needs for the project and communication of these regularly to the Division Production
- Understand the full contractual scope of work, contract type, and milestone schedule managing the progress and reporting on the project
- Review constructability and ensure the work execution plan is based on the most productive option
- Responsible for fabrication 4WLA including the prioritization of materials and drawings to suit and chairing the production 4WLA and forecast fabrication and engineering requirements to meet the project contract schedule
- Responsible for initiating and approving all revisions orders and change orders ensuring incorporation into the global lessons learned database
- Solve technical problems and initiate site queries to ensure work disruption is minimized and productivity is optimized
- Chair the weekly project production meeting, managing the project’s weekly fabrication progress and productivity and ensure is within budget
- Manage any scope of work changes and ensure AFC estimate is up to date and that revision and change orders are initiated
- Appraise fabrication management of any project issues that affect the forecasted progress, productivity, and schedule commitments
- Develop a work pack index and set priorities and deliverable dates for the discipline teams
- Direct the discipline groups with all material ordering priorities and schedule dates to suit the fabrication sequence
- Direct material expediting reports and advise procurement personnel of any concerns and mitigation plans as necessary
- Authorize technical queries/correspondence to be issued to the client
- Develop a project fabrication execution plan that satisfies the contract requirements most productively
- Interface with other key project personnel such as project cost engineer, marine operations engineer, quality manager
- Lead project constructability program effort for fabrication
- Lead the Discipline Production Engineering team, Drafting Squad Leaders, Material Controllers, etc. to meet project fabrication requirements
- Manage inter/intra–functional interfaces at the discipline level for the fabrication portion of the project with minimal guidance
- Responsible for optimal utilization and development of the discipline team assigned on the project
- Establish a productive working relationship with Project Superintendents & Supervisions to ensure meeting the Fabrication Targets
- Ensure necessary documentation and compliance with procedural requirements throughout the project phases
- Interface for discipline-level requirements with key project personnel from various functions like Engineering, SCM, Quality, Cost control, Marine Operations, hook-up up etc. to meet priorities and schedule dates for project fabrication requirements
- Attend expediting meetings to communicate material delivery priorities, review and communicate Marine deliverables requirements to meet fabrication plan/ sequence
- Manage discipline level project fabrication progress within schedule and productivity within targeted budget in coordination with project Operations Engineer
- Support project Operation Engineer to manage inter/intra–functional interfaces and project reporting requirements like AFC estimate review, subcon coordination, project status reporting, developing fabrication sequence, conducting constructability reviews, etc.
- Lead project constructability reviews on a discipline level including resolution of construction problems with intra/ inter function interfaces
- Understand the overall project scope of work to lead and guide the discipline production engineering team to meet project fabrication deliverables in line with the fabrication sequence/ schedule
- Support the Fabrication Bid coordination efforts on assigned Bid projects supporting the Fab Bid Coordinator
Essential Qualifications and Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 5+ years offshore and Petrochemical Industry
- Expertise in production engineering and optimization techniques
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to production processes and facilities
- Proven track record in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing large-scale projects
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex technical challenges
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools related to production engineering
- Technically capable of strategizing and delivering discipline-level fabrication efforts for complex EPIC projects

As our Lead AIT Production Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the execution of satellite production activities on the shop floor. You will oversee manpower allocation, ensure alignment with planning schedules, and provide real-time insights into floor capabilities and workload.
Acting as the bridge between Manufacturing Engineers and Production Technicians, you will ensure processes are followed, stations are ready, and technicians are well-supported and trained. This role combines technical depth with strong operational and people management, ensuring smooth and efficient AIT execution.
Key Responsibilities- Production Floor & Manpower Management
- Plan, allocate, and monitor technician workload based on production priorities and schedules.
- Coordinate daily activities with planners and supervisors to ensure on-time project delivery.
- Monitor floor capacity and provide real-time updates on workload, bottlenecks, and resource needs.
- Technician Oversight & Support
- Supervise and guide production technicians in assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) activities.
- Provide hands-on technical support when required, ensuring proper task execution.
- Oversee and track technician training, ensuring readiness, compliance, and skill development.
- Foster a culture of safety, discipline, and continuous learning on the production floor.
- Production / Test Station Management
- Ensure production and test stations are operational, calibrated, and compliant with cleanroom requirements.
- Oversee allocation and readiness of tools, fixtures, and ground support equipment (GSE).
- Coordinate maintenance and troubleshooting of production stations with engineering and facilities teams.
- Process Adherence & Troubleshooting
- Ensure adherence to work instructions, drawings, SOPs, and quality standards during execution.
- Act as the first responder for production issues, escalating technical challenges to Manufacturing Engineers as needed.
- Contribute to root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for non-conformances.
- Collaboration & Reporting
- Act as the operational link between planners, engineers, quality, and technicians.
- Report production progress, manpower usage, and station readiness to supervisors and management.
- Provide feedback to Manufacturing Engineers on process efficiency and technician challenges.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing/Production Engineering, or related field.
- 4–7 years of relevant experience in aerospace, satellite manufacturing, or high-tech precision industries.
- Strong understanding of AIT processes, cleanroom protocols, and production practices.
- Proven experience in managing teams of technicians and production activities.
- Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings and SOPs.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Hands-on problem-solving ability in production environments.
- Direct experience in satellite AIT execution.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Familiarity with ERP/MES production planning systems.
- Exposure to test environments (thermal, vibration, vacuum).
