Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Material Specialist to join our dynamic team in Abu Dhabi.
This role will focus on the selection, testing, and development of materials used in aerospace systems, specifically in electronic warfare applications.
As a Material Expert, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the performance, durability, and reliability of materials in demanding environments, contributing to the success of cutting-edge technology in aerospace and defense systems.
Key Responsibilities:
· Material Selection & Evaluation of performance characteristics of metals, composites, ceramics, polymers, and other advanced materials to ensure they meet design and operational requirements, including standards and regulatory compliance
· Testing & Analysis i.e mechanical, thermal, electrical, and environmental testing and recommend improvements or alternative materials.
· Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Work closely with the R&D engineers and product owners to support material selection for new designs.
· Failure Analysis & Problem Solving: Investigate material failures in existing systems, identifying root causes and suggesting corrective actions or design modifications. Utilize failure analysis techniques to improve material integrity and reliability.
· Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Ph.D. is a plus.
· Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience working with materials in aerospace, defense, or electronic warfare applications. Strong background in advanced materials, including composites, metals, ceramics, and polymers used in high-performance aerospace systems.
Knowledge & Skills:
· Expertise in material properties and behavior under various environmental conditions (temperature, pressure, radiation, corrosions, etc.).
· Familiarity with material testing standards and methodologies.
· Experience with electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) in the context of aerospace and EW systems.
· Proficiency in CAD software, material simulation tools, and failure analysis techniques.
· Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
· Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with advanced composite materials and additive manufacturing (3D printing) in aerospace.
· Knowledge of the latest trends and developments in electronic warfare technologies and their material requirements.
· Familiarity with high-reliability material certification processes.

- Material Management:

Looking for a highly skilled Materials Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in monitoring, inspecting, coordinating, witnessing, and documenting all materials used in projects to ensure compliance with contract requirements and specifications. You will work closely with the construction team to ensure the highest standards of quality and material integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Accountabilities:
- Assist the construction team with material submittals, approvals, testing, and sampling to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Review subcontractors’ and suppliers’ material submittals and coordinate with consultants to obtain required approvals in accordance with applicable standards.
- Serve as the focal point for scheduling, controlling, and tracking all construction materials for the project.
- Conduct site inspections to verify that work conforms to contract specifications and approved materials are used.
- Coordinate with subconsultants for material testing and quality assurance activities.
- Maintain organized documentation including inspection records, material certificates, compliance documents, and related correspondence.
- Verify correct storage and handling of materials on site to prevent damage or contamination.
- Identify potential material-related issues or conflicts and report to the Technical Manager with recommendations for resolution.
- Collect, review, and file Certificates of Compliance, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), inspection tags, and other relevant material documentation.
- Provide technical guidance to junior staff as needed.
- Participate in developing and maintaining quality control reports and procedures.
- Perform engineering calculations, prepare charts, graphs, and reports related to material performance and usage.
- Ensure that construction work execution aligns with approved methods and specifications.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, Urban Design, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Proven experience in construction projects related to landscaping, buildings, infrastructure, and roadworks is highly desirable.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting technical plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes and material requirements relevant to the assigned projects.

- Advising on, planning, and organizing inspections, maintenance, and repairs.
- Overseeing operational quality control processes.

Performs complex engineering tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately. Extracts engineering information from CAD drawings.
Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes. Frequently interfaces with other Engineering disciplines as well as other departments.
Prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
Reviews supplier drawing submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents. Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower-level Engineers working on the same project.
May be required to provide the seal and signature of the professional engineer, as appropriate, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and ordinances.
May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology.
Minimum 7 years of related experience on road works, bridges and infrastructure projects.
Have Dubai Central Laboratory Approval.
Experience in reviewing third party designs and coordinating comments for approval.
Experience of working within a multi-discipline team environment.
