Managing the MEP teams of the consultant and the contractor engineers for the execution of MEP related design and installations works to meet the project specifications, authorities’ regulations, and international codes in line with the project schedule and budget.
Key Duties and Responsibilities MEP Design and Pretender Activities:- Manage the Consultant Engineer for the MEP Design Activities and Support the Consultants on MEP design works.
- Cooperate with the Design and Development teams and provide MEP technical support/solutions.
- Have the experience to review and advise on cost estimation of works and materials.
- Ensure that tenders received from bidders are in accordance with required specifications.
- Advise the estimating team on costs of design and provide alternatives for changes in specification and details.
- Ensure that the client’s requirements are correctly interpreted and taken account of.
- Review MEP design information at tender stage and undertake a design gap analysis to advise the estimating team of any design shortfalls.
- Produce Value Engineering options.
- Evaluate potential costs/fees for Statutory services.
- Oversee MEP works for all the Projects/Packages.
- Manage the MEP Consultant Engineer for the Construction Activities and Support the Contractor on the execution of the MEP works.
- Cooperate with the Construction and Project Managers for the on-time and on-budget completion of the Projects.
- Review the Contractor’s MEP Progress Reports and provide feedback to the Project Management.
- Monitor the process of the MEP shop drawings and site progress/inspections between the operation stakeholders.
- Manage the MEP Testing & Commissioning by reviewing and monitoring Testing and commissioning process and activities.
- Respond on the related RFIs.
- Assure compliance with codes, standards, and statutory authority requirements.
- Cooperate and coordinate with the other disciplines for securing the integration of different trades/activities.
- BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
- At least 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role.
- Contractor’s experience in a similar role will be much appreciated.
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
- Demonstrated effective managerial capability on construction projects of comparable scope and complexity is also required.
- Effective oral and written skills for technical reporting, and internal/external correspondence.
- Understanding of budget development and cost accounting.
- Ability to function in a multi-organizational environment.

The MEP Project Manager is the interface between the Employer and the contractor and is responsible for the successful delivery of the project to the required standard and programme. He / she will need to have excellent communication skills and proven abilities to manage the main contractor, subcontractors, and the Supervision Consultant to ensure the project is delivered to the highest quality.
Key responsibilities
- Works with the Planner to ensure effective planning is carried out for Project including production of Progress/Programme Reports, Construction/Tender programs, weekly lookahead programs, and Management of the critical path.
- Monitors Supervision Consultants performance with respect to contractor/subcontractor submittals and QA/QC and recommends corrective action when required.
- Develops and writes the schedule commentary that appears in the monthly progress and similar reports. Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule and prepares and presents the Critical Items Action Report.
- Assist in responses to FIDIC claim notices with respect to EOT claims and in preparation of Determinations.
- Set up and control a strict regime to capture information of daily resource on site (main contractor and subcontractor labor, plant, and materials) to help inform potential delay issues and to respond to claims as appropriate.
- Ensure programme construction with correct logic and sequencing to meet contract requirements and constraints.
- To be aware of and maintain an understanding of the contract documents, codes of practice, standards, and specifications.
- Provide consistent and proactive reporting at project delivery team and business level.
- Committed to anticipating and seeking out Client needs both internally and externally.

- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree essential.
- 7-12 years of related work experience in Real Estate or Construction project management.
- In addition, must be knowledgeable of current Primavera Enterprise Systems (P6) & Microsoft Project scheduling technology.
- Proven ability to perform in a technical role, possess good written and oral communication skills, and have a thorough understanding of HSEE and industry practices and regulations.
- Fully understands all elements of MEP services.
- Demonstrable experience of preparing Testing and Commissioning Plans and delivering on site.
- Demonstrable experience of delivering Real Estate and Infrastructure projects.
- Computer literacy: Minimum Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Primavera P6).
