Lead Engineer in Engineering Design & Detailing of Civil & Structural works of Oil & Gas projects

Must have worked in STAAD Pro / Foundation Suite software in Analysis & Design

Hands on experience on model review in SP3D / E3D /PDS / PDMS platform

Experience on preparation of the Design calculation through XL spread sheet

Job Overview

Structural Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing all structural engineering activities for the transportation project during the pre-construction and construction phases. Experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) and railway projects is required. This role is crucial for ensuring the construction meets all safety, quality, and structural standards are met.   • Address any stakeholder concerns regarding the structural integrity or progress of the project in a timely and effective manner.

  • Provide technical support during the construction supervision phase, addressing any structural issues that arise.
  • Work closely with the required departments to ensure compliance with any legal, financial, and corporate protocols.
  • Prepare and deliver structural presentations as required.
  • Drive progression via coordination meetings, ensuring all structural obligations are met.
  • Liaise with external consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with structural requirements.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

Knowledge and Experience:
  • 7-10 years of experience in structural engineering with a focus on overground railway stations or similar large-scale transportation infrastructure projects.

Your mission

As Assistant Resident Engineer - Civil (Substation) in our Transmission & Distribution department, you will assist the Resident Engineer in supervising civil works for high-voltage substations. Your mission
As Assistant Resident Engineer - Civil (Cable) in our Transmission & Distribution department, you will support the Resident Engineer in supervising civil works related to underground cable projects. You will ensure that construction activities are carried out in accordance with contract documents, drawings, method statements, and safety requirements. Your role will involve site inspections, contractor coordination, and support in final project handover.

Your key responsibilities
  • Assist the Resident Engineer in daily supervision of civil works for underground cable projects.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor contractor performance.
  • Liaise with all technical disciplines and attend Site Technical Coordination Meetings.
  • Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and construction-related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with approved method statements, drawings, and layouts.
  • Witness site activities and testing to verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Support the Resident Engineer in carrying out final inspections, certification of completion, and handover of works.
  • Ensure proper implementation of site safety measures.

Your qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (approved by UAE regulatory authorities).
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in civil engineering projects in the UAE, including underground cable works.

  • Strong technical knowledge of civil works for cable laying and related infrastructure.
  • Skilled in site supervision, contractor coordination, and review of technical submissions.
  • Familiar with UAE authority standards and utility requirements.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.

Preference
  • Prior experience with TRANSCO, ADDC, DEWA or other major UAE utilities will be highly preferred.
