The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Participating in the preparation and follow-up of the annual operational plan, including performance indicators, targets, projects, and programs, and identifying budget needs.
- Following up on performance indicators related to policies and processes related to performing arts and raising the results of applying indicators.
- Preparing responses to international questionnaires related to the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority's areas of work, in coordination with the concerned parties.
- Participating in the preparation of studies and research on best practices in terms of content, workshops, exhibitions, conferences, and seminars on performing arts, and presenting and raising proposals and initiatives that help develop plans, programs, and initiatives of the Administration.
- Participating in identifying gaps, requirements, and challenges in the field of performing arts, and ensuring alignment with the new strategy and future directions.
- Supervising and following up on visits by representatives of regional and international organizations, in coordination with organizational units.
- Supervising and following up on the organization of regional and international events and conferences related to performing arts, in coordination with organizational units.
- Preparing and coordinating high-impact performing arts activities, as assigned by the Department Manager, and monitoring progress effectively according to the set goals and timelines, and preparing regular reports on performance at the same time, and presenting alerts to ensure the successful implementation of these programs.
- Working closely with the Sector Planning Department and the Performance Department to follow up and measure progress, and prepare the necessary reports regarding the field of performing arts, according to the strategic objectives and initiatives of the sector.
- Identifying crucial and strategic partnerships that can support the Dubai Culture Authority in implementing strategic plans, initiatives, and programs, and establishing sustainable partnerships.
- Providing sector-based inputs regarding the development of policies and legislation related to performing arts to the Administration.
- Supervising and following up on the annual agenda for specialized events and exhibitions in performing arts in the Emirate of Dubai, and maintaining continuous communication with the concerned parties, and studying the needs and requirements necessary for their implementation.
- Committing to applying information security policies and procedures, maintaining data confidentiality, and reporting to the Information Security Officer on any violations or breaches of the adopted policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Performing Arts, Applied Arts, Business Administration, or equivalent from an accredited university.
- 5 years or more of relevant practical experience.

Position Summary: The High School Performing Arts Assistant is a key support role within the school's Performing Arts Department. The assistant will be responsible for providing administrative and instructional support to the department's music teachers and will assist and accompany music classes and school performances. This role requires a blend of musical proficiency, as well as the ability to manage day-to-day tasks that help ensure smooth operations within the department.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as the accompanist for rehearsals, performances, and assessments for students in the high school.
- Play the piano for choir, and other school music-related events as required.
- Sight-read music at a high proficiency level and adjust to changes in tempo or musical cues during rehearsals.
- Collaborate with the performing arts faculty to prepare and rehearse musical selections for concerts, festivals, and auditions.
- Assist performance arts department faculty during daily classes, helping to manage student needs, distribute materials, and provide individual support during rehearsals.
- Supervise students in smaller breakout groups to assist with practicing parts, ensemble pieces, or other music-related activities.
- Support teachers in setting up and organizing instruments, music stands, and technology for classroom use.
- Aid in classroom management, ensuring that students remain on task and are engaged in the learning process. Assist in creating a positive, organized, and efficient learning environment.
- Be available for after-school and weekend rehearsals and performances as required.
- Help organize and catalog sheet music, instruments, and other department resources.
- Assist in coordinating logistics for performances, including setting up the performance area, managing student schedules, and handling equipment.
- Maintain inventory and ensure proper care of musical instruments, costumes, and other materials related to performances.

Terms of Employment:
This position requires flexibility to work after school and occasionally on weekends to support performances and rehearsals.This position is classified as a staff position and reports to the High School Principal. General working hours are from 7:45 am - 3:45 pm, Monday through Thursday and 7:45 am - 12:45 pm (on site) & 2:30 pm - 3:45 pm (remote/flexible) on Fridays.
