Job Description- You will work with the team to conduct cutting-edge AI and computational biology research. Your primary tasks will include improving existing models and exploring new methodologies to advance our AI capabilities in biology.
- You will work with the team on designing and executing experiments, analyzing complex datasets, and applying statistical techniques to validate the performance and robustness of AI systems.
- Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the AI/ML researchers and computational biologists on the team to develop our state-of-the-art AI for biology foundation models.
- M.S. or Ph.D. student (or evidence of equivalent level of expertise) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.
- Skilled in developing, implementing, and debugging deep learning methods/models in popular frameworks, such as JAX, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, with an interest in generative models, graph neural networks, or large-scale deep learning applications.
- Strong theoretical foundation (e.g., statistics, optimization, graph theory, linear algebra).
- Passion for interdisciplinary research (emphasizing the intersection of AI and Biology), and willingness to acquire necessary domain knowledge.
- Motivated and self-driven with the ability to operate with partial descriptions of high-level objectives (as is typical in a start-up environment).
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices (version control, documentation, etc).
- 3 year PhD student and above.
- Proven track record in research and innovation demonstrated through contributions in top-tier AI/ML (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, ICLR) and/or core biology (e.g., Nature, Science, or Cell) journals and conferences.
- Intern experience in industry (e.g., OpenAI, FAIR, Deepmind, Google Research).
- Hands-on experience working at the intersection of AI and Biology.
- Experience in large-scale distributed training and inference.
- Open-source contributions, especially if used by others.

Summary of the roleThe CSLC is looking to hire a researcher with expertise in glacier and ice shelf modelling. The scientist will work with others in a team to characterize Antarctic glaciers and assess their instability. The incumbent will perform research on the dynamics of Antarctic glaciers and the effect of ocean and atmosphere on their motion and instability. The work involves, in addition to modelling, the development of diagnostics using satellite and ground-based observational datasets and the possibility to join field campaigns in Arctic and Antarctic.
Main Duties and Key responsibilities- Conducting and analyzing experiments on glacier dynamic processes using a glacier model, satellite observations and ground-based observations to assess their instability.
- Developing diagnostics of the physical processes involved in the interactions between glaciers, ice shelves, ocean, sea ice and atmosphere, based on observational and numerical datasets.
- Conduct scientific studies, publish results in peer-reviewed journals and communicate about them in international conferences.

Education
A PhD degree in oceanography, glaciology or a related discipline.
Experience
Experience with numerical models.
Experience in analyzing large geophysical datasets.
Experience with high-performance computing environments and scientific codes.
Familiarity with glacial modeling software (e.g., ELMER ICE) is an advantage.
Knowledge and skills
Very good programming and scripting skills are expected.
Good understanding of physical processes involved in the interaction between the atmosphere, sea ice, the ocean and land ice is essential.
Language
Candidates must be able to work effectively in English and interviews will be conducted in English.

Department: R&D / Manufacturing Reports to: Head – R&D / Technical Director Role Summary The Research Scientist will be responsible for research, development, optimization, validation, and transfer to manufacturing of RT-PCR diagnostic kits. The role involves assay design, troubleshooting, analytical validation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards for molecular diagnostics. Key Responsibilities • Assay Development & Optimization • Design and optimize primers, probes, and reaction conditions for real-time PCR–based assays. • Develop multiplex RT-PCR assays with high sensitivity and specificity. • Standardize sample preparation, nucleic acid extraction, and amplification workflows. • Validation & Verification • Conduct analytical validation (LOD, linearity, specificity, cross-reactivity, precision, reproducibility). • Support clinical validation studies with reference materials and clinical samples. • Prepare technical reports and validation documents. • Technology Transfer & Manufacturing • Scale-up optimized assays for routine kit manufacturing. • Prepare and standardize master mixes, controls, and QC panels. • Work closely with production and QA/QC teams for batch release and troubleshooting. • Regulatory & Quality Compliance • Ensure compliance with ISO 13485, IVD regulations, and applicable international standards. • Draft and maintain SOPs, technical files, and risk management documents. • Support regulatory submissions and audits. • Cross-Functional Collaboration • Liaise with product management, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure smooth R&D-to-market transition. • Train technical staff on new assay protocols and troubleshooting.
Requirements
• Ph.D. / M.Sc. / M.Tech. in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Microbiology Life Sciences, Genetics or related field. • PhExperience in NGS/Genomics would be a plus. • PhExperience in assay design, troubleshooting, analytical validation, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards for molecular diagnostics.

NYUAD Water Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research scientist to work on the development of membrane desalination to treat water from the Arabian Gulf feed sources and on the design and scale-up of low energy membranes for water purification, under the supervision of Professor Nidal Hilal, Director of the Water Research Center and Global Professor of Engineering. The successful applicant will drive an exciting project on developing functional membrane materials, including nanostructured polymer membranes tailored to microfiltration, ultrafiltration, membrane distillation, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis. The candidate will employ advanced membrane fabrication techniques and characterization tools (SEM, TEM, DSC, TGA, BET, etc.) to establish fabrication-structure-property-performance relationships in novel materials for sustainable desalination and water treatment. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists and engineers, graduate students and undergraduate students. The successful applicant will manage projects and work closely with postdoctoral researchers, build deep technical knowledge and develop transferable solutions. He/she will participate in developing novel concepts and writing proposals. He/she will work towards solving complex problems with efficiency and creativity. He/she will be involved in writing reports, authoring publications, drafting patents and presenting results at conferences. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of materials science and engineering, membrane fabrication techniques, membrane characterization tools and separation processes.
