Are you ready to shape the future of Amazon's Middle East & Africa (MEA) corporate office portfolio? As a MEA Portfolio Strategist, you'll drive sustainable and employee-centric real estate strategies across 13 countries, optimizing our 1.1MM RSF portfolio. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on Amazon's MEA real estate landscape. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative strategies that align with business needs and support our commitment to sustainability. Day to day, you will collaborate with regional key stakeholders to develop and implement portfolio-wide MEA transaction strategies, present recommendations to regional leadership supporting portfolio optimization and growth, champion sustainable practices including Green Leasing initiatives, and engage in cross-regional knowledge sharing and best practice implementation.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Create 10-year citywide Masterplan frameworks providing a holistic long-term strategic vision that aligns with broader Amazon goals within urban developmental policies and trends (geopolitical, social, and economic) context.
  2. Lead engagement and alignment with regional leadership on strategy paper deliverables, looking ahead 3-9 months. Ensure alignment of strategic recommendations and facilitate transition over to Transaction Management for execution.
  3. Own the Critical Lease Events within the region, ensuring timely Plan of Record decisions in alignment with key stakeholders over a rolling 36-month time horizon.
  4. Leverage technology to enhance decision-making through real estate research and analytics.
  5. Support the development of best practices to drive performance across the portfolio.
  6. Collaborate with AMER and APAC peers to ensure consistency and the sharing of best practices and lessons learned.
  7. Support the GREF Spend Approval process in line with Amazon's Spend & Transaction Policy.
  8. Work in a matrix reporting structure encompassing both dotted and hard reporting lines.
  9. Ensure 100% procedural compliance at all times.

What You'll Do

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Senior Manager you will be providing business partnering support for senior stakeholders across a project life cycle. This high visible and high impact role will lead on project analysis, management and reporting on strategic projects by utilizing various BI tools & systems. In addition, this person will support key business transformation initiatives focused on optimizing performance. You will need to have an inquisitive mind and a can-do attitude to operate in this top tier consultancy firm. YOU’RE GOOD AT

  • You have advanced and in-depth knowledge of Project Accounting and can leverage your experiences to ensure best practice operations
  • Supporting DSO management throughout a project life cycle. Ensuring working capital and DSO days are optimized. Overall responsibility of contracting, client deliverables invoicing and excellent understanding of commercial T&Cs.
  • You are great at building trusting and close connections with internal and external stakeholders of all levels in your area of focus to shape business outcomes
  • Working closely with Senior stakeholders on project financials and profitability, managing risk and reporting financial performance by using various dashboards
  • Tracking time movements, processing absorptions and managing case closures
  • Playing an integral role in business initiatives related to performance improvements and supporting cross functional teams to achieve desired results
  • Strong Excel modelling skills
  • Periodic forecasts to finance leadership related to various components of the working capital cycle.
  • Other adhoc reports and tasks related to the working capital cycle as required

What You'll Bring

  • A relevant bachelor's degree / Accounting qualification with 5+ years relevant Project Accounting experience preferably at a professional services firm / multi-national organization.
  • Experience with and exposure to data analytics and business intelligence tools e.g. SAP Business objects, Power BI, Tableau; writing queries, building reports, and diagnosing issues
  • Sound analytical and reporting skills combined with excellent communication skills; written and oral
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a global environment with people at all levels, preferably in a professional services organization
  • Ability to support change management initiatives across multiple teams
  • Resourcefulness and strong problem capabilities
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
  • Ability to respect all BCG information as personal and confidential
