The Network Administrator will own the design, implementation and ongoing management of the organization's wired and wireless networks across on‑premises and cloud environments. The role blends traditional networking (LAN/WAN, cabling, routers and switches) with cloud‑based security and mobility. You will ensure seamless connectivity and high availability, manage network security, and support future growth and cloud integration.
Key Responsibilities- Network design & deployment: Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade enterprise LAN/WAN environments and in‑house servers. Plan and install hardware rollouts (switches, routers, wireless access points) and structured cabling for new sites and users.
- Cisco switching & Meraki wireless: Configure, manage and monitor Cisco switches and Cisco Meraki security appliances and cloud management portals. Implement VLANs, SD‑WAN, QoS and wireless policies to ensure reliable connectivity and performance.
- Firewall & security management: Design, configure and manage advanced firewall solutions from Palo Alto, Fortinet and Cisco Firepower. Administer Azure Firewall, Virtual WAN and VPN Gateway, enforce rule sets and respond to security alerts.
- Cloud networking: Administer and support enterprise cloud networking (Azure) including virtual networks, VPNs and hybrid connections. Maintain log analytics, monitor performance and remediate issues to optimize throughput and reduce latency.
- Monitoring & troubleshooting: Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, latency etc.) and test for weaknesses. Proactively identify and resolve network and user‑reported issues, ensuring disaster recovery plans are maintained.
- Access management & documentation: Set up user accounts, permissions and passwords. Define network policies and procedures, document topologies and maintain accurate runbooks.
- Compliance & security posture: Assess threats and embed security standards, designing robust backup and disaster‑recovery plans. Conduct firewall audits and configuration reviews, ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams, vendors and service providers to address network needs and integrate new technologies.
- Experience: 8+ years of hands‑on experience in network routing, switching and administration across multi‑site environments. At least 1 year administering Azure networking (Firewall, VPN, Virtual WAN).
- Equipment & technologies: Proficiency with Cisco switches, Cisco Meraki security appliances and cloud dashboards. Strong experience managing firewall configurations (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco Firepower) and VPN/NAT rules. Familiarity with LAN/WAN, SD‑WAN and broadband/fiber connectivity.
- Cabling & facilities: Ability to perform structured cabling and support computer‑facility maintenance.
- Networking fundamentals: Solid knowledge of routing, switching and network protocols; experience with network monitoring tools and interpreting system alerts.
- Education & certifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Certifications in Cisco Technologies, Security Technologies and Microsoft Azure.
- Soft skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities, excellent communication skills and a customer‑centric mindset. Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Familiarity with additional wireless solutions (e.g., Aruba).
- Experience with network security assessments and compliance standards such as PCI or ISO 27001.
- Knowledge of automation/scripting (PowerShell, Python) and infrastructure‑as‑code tools for provisioning and configuration.
