ROLE SUMMARY

The LC/GI Product Specialist will be responsible for driving demand and maximizing the uptake of AstraZenecas Lung Cancer (LC) and Gastrointestinal (GI) oncology portfolio within the assigned territory. This field-based involves developing strong science-led relationships with key stakeholders including healthcare professionals (HCPs) multidisciplinary team (MDT) members and decision-making units (DMUs) to identify opportunities for optimal patient care.

The Product Specialist will proactively identify business opportunities provide tailored solutions and execute strategic account plans in alignment with brand and business objectives. A deep understanding of the oncology landscape treatment pathways and competitive environment is essential to deliver differentiated value to customers and ultimately improve patient outcomes.

The role requires approximately 90% field-based activity and 10% office-based work for planning reporting and collaboration.

What youll do

Strategic Account Management

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans that align with national regional priorities & brand strategy.
  • Identify and implement local-level opportunities to enhance the positioning and uptake of Tagrisso Imfinzi and Imjudo.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g. medical access marketing) to ensure cohesive implementation of business plans.

Scientific & Clinical Engagement

  • Build deep science-driven relationships with key stakeholders including medical oncologists and the full multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  • Engage in meaningful discussions on approved indications treatment protocols and efficacy/safety data to support informed on-label prescribing.
  • Facilitate knowledge exchange across AZ by sharing stakeholder insights to inform brand clinical and commercial strategies.

Educational Leadership & Stakeholder Development

  • Drive awareness and understanding of AstraZenecas oncology value proposition across the Decision-Making Unit (DMU) and MDT.
  • Organize and lead scientific workshops speaker programs and peer-to-peer engagements with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders (KOLs).
  • Deliver credible compliant and impactful scientific messaging for Tagrisso Imfinzi & Imjudo and other oncology assets through various communication channels.

Sales & Performance Delivery

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets across the assigned portfolio.
  • Utilize a mix of promotional tools and evidence-based messaging to highlight the benefits of our portifolio and ensure optimal utilization of Tgarisso Imfinzi & Imjudo according to national and local guidelines.
  • Monitor market dynamics and customer needs to adapt strategies in real-time.

Compliance & Ethical Leadership

  • Complete all mandatory training and certifications including product knowledge assessments in a timely manner.
  • Uphold AstraZenecas Code of Ethics and ensure all activities are compliant with industry regulations internal policies and local legal requirements.
  • Report any adverse events compliance concerns or conflicts of interest promptly and according to protocol.

Job Summary

This is a physician position and is responsible for the overall Medical Oncology leadership at Cancer Institute, including all issues regarding leadership, operational, fiscal and human resource management. This position is responsible for the integration of all Hematology & Oncology services at the Cancer Institute into CCAD’s strategic plan.

  • Monitors and provides care to patients at CCAD within Cancer Institute
  • Prescribes or administers medication, therapy and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury
  • Provides specific treatments and / or performs operations to treat patient medical conditions
  • Evaluates patient and records applicable notes about patient’s condition for purposes of serving as a record of treatment and / or making a possible referral to another member of the health care professional team
  • Liaisons with other medical and non-medical staff at CCAD to ensure quality patient treatment
  • Supplies, provides and manages care in a culturally appropriate and sensitive manner
  • Adheres to individual approved clinical privileges, as well as to all policies and procedures of the Medical Staff

Leadership responsibilities

  • Develops a strategic plan for the Division that supports the strategic direction of CCAD
  • Defines the Division’s scope and direction in the areas of patient care, education and research
  • Creates a vision and supports members of the Division in their pursuit of excellence in the areas of patient care, education and research
  • Recommends criteria for selecting the Division's or services professional staff and choose or recommend individuals who meet those criteria.
  • Recommends space, medical technology, equipment, staffing, and other resources needed by the Division or service and have a process in place to respond to shortages.
  • Provides orientation and training for all staff of the duties and responsibilities for the Division or service to which they are assigned.
  • Responsible for recommending and monitoring outside sources of services that relate to the specialty.
  • Promotes the retention of employees
  • Assesses the cost effectiveness of practice at CCAD and recommends methods by which the most economical use of equipment, supplies and pharmaceuticals can be assured without compromising the medical necessities of treatment
  • Develops and implements, in cooperation with Nursing, Administration and the Medical Staff, patient care policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols and periodically updates them as needed
  • Cooperates with leadership of other Divisions in setting strategy and providing care to patients
  • Participates as a member of the Medical Executive Committee (MEC) and assumes administrative responsibilities on behalf of the organization as required

Operational responsibilities

  • Oversees and resolves issues relating to resource utilization, productivity and other administrative functions
  • Monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness of patient care provided within the Division
  • Ensures that the Division provides appropriate clinical outcomes data and physician level performance metrics to allow for an objective evaluation of clinical performance
  • Identifies opportunities for Divisional performance improvement from both a clinical and administrative perspective and works toward enhancing performance to meet or exceed standards

Fiscal responsibilities

  • Adheres to budget for the Division and analyzes and explains budget variances
  • Ensures that all Division expenditures are in accordance with current CCAD policy

Human Resources Management responsibilities

  • Participates in reviewing and approving plans and expenses involved in the recruitment of staff members
  • Performs annual professional review for staff
  • Monitors and ensures high quality education and research programs
  • Recommends compensation adjustments or requirements that are within budget guidelines
  • Helps to arbitrate disputes regarding compensation
  • Recruits physician staff through a careful review of candidates and selection process

Experience Requirements

  • For Physicians from Tier 1 countries, not less than two (2) years additional experience post qualification
  • For Physicians from Tier 2 countries, not less than five (5) years additional experience post qualification
  • Must hold a valid License / Registration to practice in their home country and / or country of last employment (where applicable)
  • Should meet the Maintenance of Certification requirements (where applicable)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a team of health care professionals

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Gynecology Oncology Specialist/Consultant to join our esteemed team. In this critical role, you will provide specialized care for patients with gynecological cancers, focusing on treatment, management, and support for individuals facing these complex health challenges.
Your responsibilities will include conducting comprehensive assessments and diagnostic evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, and utilizing the latest medical advancements to enhance patient outcomes. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care while addressing the physical and emotional needs of patients and their families.
Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed evaluations of patients with gynecological cancers, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests
  • Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans encompassing surgical, chemotherapeutic, and palliative care options
  • Administer chemotherapy and provide supportive care for patients undergoing treatment
  • Perform surgical procedures related to gynecological oncology, collaborating with surgical teams as necessary
  • Educate patients and families about their diagnoses, treatment options, side effects, and supportive care resources
  • Participate in research initiatives and contribute to advancing the field of gynecologic oncology
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records and facilitate effective patient management
Requirements
  • Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited institution
  • Completion of residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology
  • Board certification in Gynecologic Oncology
  • Valid and active medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
  • At least 5 years of experience in gynecology oncology
  • Strong surgical skills and proficiency in the latest oncological surgical techniques
  • Excellent communication and patient care skills, with the ability to empathize with patients and families
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
  • Commitment to continuing education and keeping up-to-date with advancements in gynecological oncology
