Pharmacist in Oncology
The primary goal of this role is to deliver high-quality pharmacy services, ensuring the safe and efficient preparation, dispensing, and administration of chemotherapy medications that meet all relevant professional, patient safety, and regulatory requirements.
This position requires a highly skilled pharmacist with expertise in compounding and dispensing oncology medications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of UAE regulatory requirements and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills in English.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate orders and prescriptions for chemotherapy and supportive medications.
- Ensure adequate and optimal supply of medications with a focus on safety and efficient use of medication.
- Monitor and manage optimal chemotherapy drug dosing procedures.
- Provide relevant clinical services and support to cancer patients and internal professionals, including educational services where required.
- Ensure accurate and safe labeling, preparation, and documentation of oncology medications according to professional standards and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure compliance and proper implementation of policies related to the handling of cytotoxic agents.
- Ensure adequate collaboration with multidisciplinary teams in planning and developing oncology programs.
- Ensure compliance and proper input into oncology drug and treatment quality and patient safety programs.
Required Education:
A Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution and licensure as a Pharmacist with the relevant UAE healthcare authority.
Required Experience:
At least 3 years of experience as a qualified Pharmacist in a hospital setting, with at least 2 years of compounding experience.
Required Job Skills and Knowledge:
- UAE regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated thorough understanding of the healthcare industry and pharmaceutical product knowledge.
- Patient experience principles and related best practices.
- Ethical stock control practices and principles.
- Stock system management systems.
- Computer literacy (MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Verbal and written communication skills in English.
