JobOverview:
The Principal Piping Designer directly impacts the effectiveness of their team and related team. They exchange ideas and information relating to Piping Design effectively. The Principal Piping Designer may work autonomously within established Piping Design procedures and practices. They act as a lead, coordinating the work of others. The Principal Piping Designer proposes improvements to processes and methods within the Piping Design discipline. The candidate must have offshore experience in design of offshore platforms and had worked previously with ADNOC.
ResponsibilitiesKeyTasks and Responsibilities:
- Perform Design and Engineering process facilities within a specified time while adhering to maintenance, safety, and quality standards, consider constructability, economics, and operation into account during Pre-FEED, FEED, or Detailed Design phases
- Develop 3D Models and ensure clash free model in coordination with all other disciplines requirements,
- Approve drawing including plot plans as per project specifications, McDermott Procedures, Process Design practice
- Complete assignments and facilitate the work activities of others
- Set priorities, organize own work and time to meet objectives, and (as Lead Designer) forecast and plan resource requirements
- When acting as Lead Designer, in addition:
- Lead the design team to complete the tasks within the planned schedule and budget, in accordance with standards, McDermott, and project-specific procedures

- Detailed knowledge of 3D CAD system including E3D or SP3D
- Minimum 1 or 2 projects working experience in E3D and/or S3D

We are currently looking for a Senior Piping Designer/3D Modeller to be based in Abu Dhabi.
Main Purpose of Role: Key Designer Role within the business to lead discipline designing performance on projects & to provide expert technical design leadership and design assurance on projects as required.
Qualifications:
Diploma of Engineering (Preferable)
Knowledge / Experience (Skills):
- Essential: 13-20 years of Oil & Gas Design Experience.
- Advantage: Previous experience in the region.
Technical Knowledge and Skills (Discipline Specific):
- Knowledge of basic engineering processes.
- Familiarity with international codes, standards, and engineering practices.
- Thorough knowledge of onshore design engineering for the oil, gas, and water field.
- Knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD applications.
- Knowledge of ESD is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with CTB & different client protocols.
- Familiarity with general arrangement & Isometrics.
- Familiarity with Pipe Supports and Piping Schedule.
- Familiarity with developing plot plans.
