Heavy Equipment Operator

A heavy equipment operator is needed to operate cranes safely and efficiently on construction or industrial sites.

• Meet heavy equipment requirements on a government contract on a military installation.
• Determine type and application of equipment to use in various maintenance and repair operations; operate construction equipment to finish grade, level, slope, and compact construction materials.
• Investigate proposed work sites to determine resource requirements, plan and estimate jobs, coordinate with other civil engineering and base agencies, and inspect work to ensure quality and compliance with policies, regulations, and other publications.

• Must have at least one of the following qualifications: OSHA Certified Crane Operator (29 CFR ), minimum two years of experience on a 100-ton crane, Certified Forklift Operator, Certified Front-End Loader, Certified CTL Skid Steer Operator, Certified Excavator Operator, Certified Street Sweeper Operator or experience in chain link fence construction and repair.
• Basic computer operation skills.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply TM instructions, publications, and safety rules.
• Must possess and maintain a valid CDL driver's license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Government). Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, and talk or hear. The employee may need to walk, reach with hands and arms, and crouch or crawl in tiring or uncomfortable positions. Occasional sitting, climbing, or balancing may be required. Frequent lifting of items weighing 40-45 pounds; occasional lifting over 50 pounds. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme heat, vibration, wet or humid conditions, weather, fumes or airborne particles, and loud environments. Long hours and remote or challenging living conditions at assignment locations.
