About the team

About the position

As a Public Policy Manager you will play a key role in monitoring evolving regional and global virtual assets policy and regulatory trends flagging risks and opportunities for the business. About you

To succeed in this role you will need the following:

  • Experience in monitoring policy and regulation across multiple markets separating signal from noise;

  • Experience in drafting insightful and concise briefs for executives and functional leaders to support strategic visibility and decision-making;

  • Experience in conducting market analysis stakeholder mapping and regulatory analysis;

  • Direct experience in drafting engagement plans and preparing engagement materials for key stakeholders and partners including briefs and presentations;

  • Experience in responding to requests for comments or information from policymakers regulators and other public sector stakeholders;

  • Extensive experience in driving research projects from start to finish drafting thought leadership pieces for internal and external audiences alike;

  • Proven ability to communicate complex concepts via visual data-driven accessible and compelling stories;

Background

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project initiated in 2008 is a collaboration between UNDPs Regional Bureau for Arab States and the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) which aims to independently analyze and monitor trends and issues affecting knowledge and development. In Arab countries and beyond it supports Arab States in developing knowledgebased societies by producing highquality publications such as the Global Knowledge Index (GKI) and Future of Knowledge Foresight Reports and facilitating exchanges through regular high level forums such as the Knowledge Summit and Knowledge Weeks. In response to evolving need in increasingly knowledgebased economies project also hosts the FutureSkills4All initiative dedicated to skills development for the digital economy and future labour markets.

SCOPE OF WORK

The Research Analyst will work under the guidance of the Project Research and Communications Specialist and will focus on economic research to support the revision of the GKI and contribute to discussions on economic and human capital development. Key responsibilities include:

1 Research and analysis:

  • Conduct quantitative and econometric analyses on various economic factors.
  • Utilize advanced statistical techniques and models to analyse data including regression analysis time series and forecasting.
  • Contribute to thinkpieces policy briefs and empirical research on economic trends and policies
  • Coordinate and prepare ad hoc thematic and substantive reports/analysis/briefs as requested.
  • Develop strategic analysis using large economic and development datasets.

4Policy advice and project support :

  • Provide expert advice on economic policies and strategies.

  • Coordinate advisory board meetings that will be providing technical expertise in the revision process.

  • Develop/use rosters of prequalified consultants Implementing Partners (Ips) and other service providers in support of project outputs and activities.
  • Oversee the work of national and international consultants that support project implementation.
  • Supervise and manage project personnel and consultants. Establish performance objectives and standards and ensure timely and appropriate feedback guidance and support to ensure optimum performance.

5Event and workshop coordination:

  • Organize and facilitate workshops seminars and conferences focused on economic themes.
  • Develop content and coordinate logistics for these events to ensure productive discussions and outcomes.

    Job Description

    • Conduct in-depth market research and competitor analysis to provide actionable insights on trends, customer needs, and industry developments in the paints and coatings sector.
    • Support business growth by forecasting demand, identifying market opportunities, and advising on pricing, product development, and market entry strategies.
    • Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, R&D, Product Development) to align market insights with business goals and support innovation and performance tracking.
    • Manage research projects, data reporting, and external vendors while maintaining accurate, up-to-date market intelligence databases and reports.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business, or related field.
    • 3–5 years’ experience in market research, preferably in paints or chemicals.
    • Proficient in data analysis, market tools, Excel, and CRM systems

    We are seeking a Lead Research Analyst for Blockchain to join our team in Hong Kong.     Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct comprehensive research and analysis on blockchain technologies, trends, and their impact on the financial services sector.
    • Develop and publish in-depth research reports that provide unique insights and actionable recommendations.
    • Formulate original theses on blockchain trends and technologies, using these as the foundation for your research.
    • Stay abreast of key developments in the blockchain space, with the ability to produce timely reports as needed.
    • Engage with industry stakeholders, including investors, developers, and other professionals, to gather insights and validate research findings.
    • Collaborate with the broader research team to ensure alignment and coherence in research outputs.
    • Represent the company at industry events and on social media platforms, enhancing the company's visibility and reputation in the blockchain community.

    Requirements

    • 3+ years of experience in blockchain research or a related field within the financial services industry.
    • Proven track record of producing high-quality research reports and analysis.
    • Strong understanding of blockchain protocols, smart contracts, and distributed ledger technologies.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely.
    • Ability to synthesize a wide range of data and insights into a coherent framework that facilitates in-depth understanding of blockchain technologies.
    • Resourceful, curious, and able to think critically and independently.
    • Strong data analysis skills and familiarity with blockchain metrics and data sources.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Knowledge of SQL and Python for data extraction and analysis.
    • Experience in conducting valuations and financial analysis within the blockchain space.
    • Familiarity with the landscape for blockchain and cryptocurrencies worldwide.
