We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the role of Power Generation Specialist.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of plant operations, including gas/steam turbines, HRSGs, and utilities.
In this position, you will be responsible for operating and monitoring equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
You will work closely with the Shift Supervisor or Main Control Room Operator to follow instructions and ensure smooth plant operation.
A key aspect of this role is recording operating parameters, identifying deviations, and reporting abnormalities.
Additionally, you will assist in routine testing and recommissioning after maintenance shutdown.
Familiarity with emergency procedures for all assigned systems is essential.
To succeed in this position, you must possess excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
You should also have IT literacy and basic numeracy skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate assigned plant equipment safely and efficiently.
- Follow instructions promptly and ensure smooth plant operation.
- Record operating parameters, identify deviations, and report abnormalities.
- Keep standby equipment ready for emergencies.
- Assist in routine testing and recommissioning after maintenance shutdown.
- Familiarize yourself with emergency procedures for all assigned systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical engineering, electrical engineering).
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in a power station environment.
- Previous experience as a Desalination Operator (PG7) or equivalent in power/desalination operations is highly desirable.
- Prior GCC market experience (Bahrain, KSA, or Qatar) is strongly preferred.

Job Summary:
The role of Generator Specialist involves contributing to the management of site activities, including planning, organizing, integrating, and monitoring resources such as labor, tools, and technical assistants required to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements.
This specialist will be responsible for making decisions within defined parameters, applying concepts to complex issues, and resolving issues through immediate action or short-term planning at customer power generating facilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate site activities to ensure efficient completion of work scope
- Perform on-site installation of systems and equipment, and conduct ongoing preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration after installation
- Respond to emergency repair requests and services for troublesome equipment
- Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer sites
- Manage administrative tasks such as writing technical reports, ordering materials, securing quotations, preparing job status reports, and submitting time sheets and expense reports promptly and accurately
- Authorize all changes implemented
- Prioritize customer satisfaction through a commitment to quality
- Maintain a strong safety mindset to ensure work reflects technical requirements within GE safety standards
- Develop knowledge to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance checks on a wide range of equipment vintage
- Cultivate team members to impart and perpetuate field engineering and product knowledge
- Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and future outage references
- Ensure all necessary parts for the job are shipped to the site
- Verify proper work by customer's contractors during installation
- Perform aftermarket upgrades at the site level
- Work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as required by field assignments
- Travel extensively to and from projects and various field assignments
