We are seeking a skilled professional to execute FEED, detailed design, feasibility, and concept design for Thermal Power Projects.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in MS Office, with basic skills in MS Project and Primavera, is mandatory.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist project managers in executing FEED, detailed design, feasibility, and concept design for Thermal Power Projects.
- Attend and participate in internal and external project meetings, including preparation of minutes of meetings.
- Monitor design work progress and prepare weekly status reports for each assignment.
- Ensure project deliverables are submitted according to the planned schedule.
- Incorporate interfaces/requirements between all internal disciplines to achieve project objectives.
- Interpret client requirements and effectively communicate them to the team.
- Monitor compliance with applicable codes, practices, performance standards, and specifications.
- Manage, guide, coordinate, and direct subcontractors for both site management and engineering.
Qualification Requirements
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

- Proficient in MS Office; basic skills in MS Project and Primavera.
- 5-10 years of experience in a discipline engineer role.

A Risk Engineer with a background in Conventional Power and/or Renewables is needed to join this world leader in international Insurance in the UAE. They provide insurance services to high-risk / high hazard sectors including energy, chemicals, marine, mass transport and power.

The team is growing in response to client demand and a further power specialist with significant experience of conventional power generation operations and /or renewables energy is now sought.
Involvement is offered in a wide range of insurance risk engineering activities within the Power and Renewables sectors, including Insurance underwriting surveys, risk assessments, broking and client technical support, and business development.
The position is on offer on generous local terms. In addition to the salary quoted there is a tax-free allowance for accommodation
Key Responsibilities:
Carrying out risk assessments, operational insurance-related site condition surveys, and reviews of new projects for Power & Renewables clients
Supporting the Energy & Power broking and client executive teams in placing risks in international insurance markets
Coordination and execution of engineering support for assigned clients, new business, and prospects in the Energy & Power Practice
Producing reports for underwriters and clients that describe power technical processes and the risk mitigation systems in place.
Comfortable with 60 days of international travel a year (when possible)
Required Skills:
Sound working knowledge of power & renewables technologies, ideally including gas turbines, fossil fuel generating plant, combined cycle plants, hydro plants, wind turbines and combined Solar & Power
Work execution methods and project management practical experience are highly desirable.
Exposure to risk assessed-driven decision-making is essential - relevant to field of expertise.
IT literacy to include general office systems such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Access (or similar)
Experience of technical simulation packages for process modelling, risk assessment, project execution purposes as is relevant to field of expertise.
Enhanced written communication skills, both for routine communications and survey reports.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Required Experience:
Experience working in offshore wind, either for a major contractor, generator/operator, or consultant - experience can be in the operational area or in major project development and execution.
Experience working in thermal power generation, ideally, for a major power generating company.
Experience expected to include coverage of gas turbine technology.
Expertise in the maintenance requirements and failure characteristics of different gas turbine models would be very welcome.
Candidates are encouraged from an operations, / production, maintenance, equipment manufacturer / supply background.

+ Respond and attend to guests/ customers to resolve maintenance issues.
