Role OverviewThe Air Pricing Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing competitive air freight pricing strategies to support the company’s sales and operational teams. The role ensures accurate and timely quotations, market competitiveness, and profitability in line with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate with internal teams, such as sales, customer service to ensure smooth workflow and timely execution of airfreight processes.
- Monitor and manage the performance of air freight service providers to ensure service quality and adherence to agreed-upon service levels.
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with overseas freight forwarders, and other logistics providers.
- Negotiate contracts, rates, and service level agreements to secure competitive pricing and optimal service quality.
- Prepare and provide timely and competitive air freight quotations to internal stakeholders and clients.
- Manage and coordinate tender quotations for the global network, ensuring competitive and accurate pricing submissions.
- Vet and manage network partners from each region, ensuring the selection of competitive vendors with favourable credit terms.
- Formulate and implement pricing strategies that reflect market conditions and customer value perception.
- Continuously analyze competitors’ pricing and positioning to maintain a competitive edge.
- Implement revenue management strategies, including dynamic pricing and yield management, to maximize profitability.
- Monitor and manage airfreight service costs to ensure profitability and efficiency, while tracking and analyzing KPIs on product success, pricing effectiveness, and market share.
- Collect and analyze customer feedback to identify opportunities for product and service enhancements, adjusting pricing strategies as needed.
- Enhance airfreight products on key trade lanes through consolidation with overseas agents to align with customer needs and ensure volume commitments with vendors.
- Monitor carrier performance, address service issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and changes in air freight practices.
- Monitor profitability and ensure that pricing aligns with company margin targets.
- Coordinate closely with the sales team to support business development and client retention.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their airfreight requirements and providing customized solutions.
- Coordinate with the sales team to support customer acquisition, retention, and growth.
- Address customer concerns, resolve issues, and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Continuously review and improve airfreight processes, systems, and procedures to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
- Identify opportunities for automation, digitization, and process optimization to streamline airfreight operations.
- Implement best practices and industry standards to optimize processes and ensure compliance.
- Ensure compliance with international air freight regulations, customs procedures, and industry standards.
- Implement and monitor internal controls and procedures to mitigate operational risks.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and proactively adapt processes to ensure compliance.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure airfreight performance and track progress.
- Generate regular reports on operational and financial performance, analyze data, and provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Monitor and analyze industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and challenges.
- Lead and motivate the airfreight team, providing clear direction, setting goals, and fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Proven experience in air freight products and operations.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Comprehensive knowledge of international air freight import / export regulations, quotation, customs procedures, and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal). Additional languages may be advantageous.
- Fluency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general internet navigation and research skills.

You will be exposed to various stakeholders in the company to cover the following:
- Quoting tenders and preparing analysis file for the Pricing Committee.
- Supporting commercial team in tender submission.
- Creating quotations for governmental and private hospitals.
- Working on governmental portals for tender submission.
- Training and guiding all Pricing Team newcomers
- Following up with team on daily tasks
- Pricing newly launched products
- Yearly review and preparation/analysis of pricelists.

+ Provide input on final pricing contracts.
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be independently mobile. The employee is also required to interact with a computer and communicate with peers and co-workers. + Experience with office management tools (MS Office software, in particular, high proficiency in Excel).
+ Experience in SAP system (System Applications and Products in Data Processing) Vendavo
+ Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
+ Strong written and oral communication skills
+ Problem-solving attitude with an eye for detail.
+ Requires a Bachelor's degree.
+ Languages: Arabic & English (proficient)
