Job Purpose
The Senior Product Owner for Digital Cards will be responsible for driving the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of digital card products (debit, credit, prepaid, and virtual cards) within the bank's digital ecosystem. A key part of this role will be to lead the design, build, and launch of a new digital credit card business, ensuring alignment with local regulations, market dynamics, and customer needs.

Technical Product Owner - Digital
(TPO) will be the front door to multiple product engineering teams, owning the backlogs of work spread across feature, function, non-functional (NFR), BAU, Technical Debt, spikes, and ceremonies. Role description and responsibilities

We are looking for a driven and experienced Technical Product Owner to lead the product vision and execution of our portfolio management services. You will play a key role in the development of our B2B2C SaaS platform, ensuring a seamless delivery of features that enhance the customer experience for financial institutions and their end clients.

What you will achieve

    • Spearhead Product Development: Lead the development of portfolio management products, including Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM), Robo-advisory, and omnichannel journeys, in a scalable SaaS environment.
    • Multi-Channel Solutions: Oversee the creation of solutions across web, mobile, and other channels, ensuring seamless B2B2C service integration for financial institutions.
    • Customer-Centric Roadmap: Develop and maintain a product roadmap that focuses on eliminating friction points across the customer journey, enabling institutions to deliver tailored experiences.
    • Data-Driven Strategy & Market Research: Leverage market research, customer feedback, and competitive analysis to drive product innovation and ensure that the platform stays ahead of industry trends.
    • Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, data science, and leadership, to ensure that projects are aligned with business goals and delivered on time.
    • Agile Product Management: Lead product development from ideation through implementation, ensuring alignment with both technical feasibility and market relevance. Work with agile teams to deliver high-quality features through iterative sprints.
    • Prioritize and Execute: Define product priorities across short, medium, and long-term horizons using data insights to guide decisions. Maintain a well-prioritized product backlog aligned with business objectives.
    • Craft Functional and Technical Specifications: Collaborate with UX/UI designers and engineers to translate business needs into seamless, customer-centric product functionalities. Drive technical and functional implementation through detailed documentation and design.
    • Measure and Optimize: Define success metrics for all product initiatives, measuring their impact and continuously optimizing to improve user satisfaction and business outcomes.

Requirements

    • Proven Experience: At least 3-5 years as a Product Owner in a B2B or B2B2C SaaS Fintech environment, ideally in wealth management or financial services.
    • Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of wealth management processes, coupled with the ability to navigate technical design trade-offs and guide complex solution implementations.
    • Hypothesis-Driven Development: Experience leading iterative, data-driven product development cycles, focusing on user-centric experiences.
    • Solution Design Expertise: Capable of independently creating detailed functional designs and technical documentation to drive product development.
    • Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment across engineering, design, data science, and leadership.
    • Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret complex data into actionable insights, guiding strategic decisions based on market trends and customer behavior.
    • Agile Expertise: Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools, with experience delivering high-quality features in fast-paced, iterative sprint cycles.
    • Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in business, finance, computer science, or related fields.
    • Domain Knowledge: Experience managing products in wealth management or fintech platforms, ideally Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM), robo-advisory, or similar portfolio management services.
    • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across diverse teams, with fluency in English (Arabic fluency is a plus).

Job Description

In this role you will:

  • Be responsible for the story content acceptance criteria definition and end story sign off across team backlogs ensuring prepared on time for future PI s, refined frequently with the entire team and prioritised accordingly in alignment with other team backlogs.
  • Ensure Technical Debt and Non-functional requirements are captured refined and prioritised across all sprints.
  • Captures additional BAU Ceremony and Spike activities and incorporates into team backlogs within the boundaries of available capacity.
  • Prepare contribution to PI demo in conjunction with other applicable Product Owners.
  • Maintain the quality and integrity of features within their technical and team boundaries ensuring identification and contribution of risks and dependencies back to the Product Portfolio backlog.
  • Attends and contributes to key Product Management meetings in particular PI Planning.
  • Defines metrics to measure the success and performance of prioritised work ensuring any further BAU iterations can be proposed and prioritised accordingly within the boundaries of available capacity.
  • Participates in establishing and growing a community of Product Owners building an identity for the role focus upon collaboration and identifying opportunities for improvement and growth.
  • Contribute to the Product Management Communities and their continual evolution to help drive efficient practices and empowered teams.
  • Working with your teams to identify and capture team driven innovation ideas consolidating across peer group for playback up to TPM Technical Product Manager.

Qualification

To be considered for the role you must meet the below requirements:

  • Bachelors degree years or equivalent) in Operations Research, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Security, Aerospace Engineering, e-Commerce or a combination of industry certification.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Global Product (CSPO/SAFe/PSPO) trained and certified.
  • Practical experience of working as a Product Owner/Manager in a team-facing capacity with a proven record of driving discernible change and delivery, at pace.
  • Whilst not essential, some experience of working within a Scaled Agile Framework, across multiple initiatives and circa 50 teams is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated technical or domain expertise in either Aviation or critical infrastructure, utilizing a depth and breadth of knowledge and practical experience within a specific domain or technical area.
  • Practical experience of working in a highly regulated sector (e.g. Aviation critical infrastructure etc.) and dealing with regulatory changes in technical areas and the ability to identify how they apply to the Emirates group.
  • Well-versed with the tools for the Project and Product Management aspects of information security initiatives.
  • Strong and concise communicator at peer line and stakeholder levels.
  • Demonstrated experience with building strong relationships with peers and team members.
  • Strong appetite for building and identifying value with a customer-centric and a service excellence mindset.
