Based in Dubai, the role will be office based.
Your Responsibilities- Preparing tailored sales proposals for the global Program Sales team, including accurately calculating and checking prices and financial comparisons before they are sent out.
- Preparing presentations and other sales collateral for the Program Sales team, ensuring that a consistent and elevated design aesthetic is maintained.
- Liaising with the Proposals Manager to prioritize proposals accordingly across multiple time zones, and amongst the Proposals team.
- Collaborating with Sales Vice Presidents to help tailor their proposals and ensure all sales proposals which are sent out are followed up on.
- Assisting with RFPs and corporate tenders, working closely with Sales Vice Presidents and across multiple departments to help tailor the response.
- Regularly review all templates in the proposals library to ensure they remain current and fit for purpose.
- Keep an up-to-date and accurate live log of all proposals prepared for the Program Sales team.
- Analytical projects with a focus on proposal conversions and regional trends.
- Ad-hoc team support and research assignments.
Excellent attention to detail, solid written and verbal communication skills and a sound grasp of numbers are essential.

The Proposals Manager plays a critical role in driving Acorn Strategy’s business growth by leading the coordination of all new business proposal processes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Proposal Coordination: Own the internal proposal timeline, from triage to submission, ensuring all deliverables are completed, approved, and submitted on time.
- Client & Prospect Communications: Manage all external communication related to RFPs and proposals, maintaining professionalism, responsiveness, and clarity at every stage.
- Final Submission & Knowledge Management: Submit final proposals through appropriate channels and maintain an organised archive of all submissions and supporting documents.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure proposals meet all RFP requirements, formats, and criteria, minimising risk of disqualification.
- Process Improvement & Workflow Optimisation: Identify inefficiencies or gaps and recommend improvements to templates, processes, and collaboration systems.
- Internal Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional leads to clarify proposal roles, manage deadlines, and build a smooth workflow across global teams.

-Maintain and curate a central repository of technical documentation, including standard content, prequalification
materials, and reference case studies.
-Oversee document control processes, ensuring version accuracy, consistency, and traceability across
submissions.
6. Reporting and Risk Assessment
-Provide regular reports on bid progress, technical milestones, risks, and resource needs.
-Support bid / no-bid decisions by conducting technical feasibility reviews and risk assessments.
-Collaborate with commercial and legal teams to ensure that technical deliverables in contracts are achievable
and clearly defined.
7. Strategic and Organisational Contribution
-Contribute to the development and implementation of technical strategies, policies, and departmental targets in
line with business objectives.
-Represent the company in manufacturing, industry, and trade associations to strengthen its technical reputation

Qualifications and Experience
Required:
-Strong practical knowledge of welding and materials, particularly CRA alloys.
-Proven experience in client-facing technical roles with the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts
effectively.
-Ability to lead technical discussions and respond clearly to technical questions from clients and internal
stakeholders.
One or more of the following qualifications:
-European Welding Engineer (EWE) or MSc in Welding Engineering
-Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng)
-Degree in Metallurgy or Mechanical Engineering
Desirable:
-Prior experience in the oil & gas sector, particularly involving corrosion-resistant materials and pipeline
solutions.
-Previous experience in a technical proposals or commercial engineering role.
-Degree in an engineering or business discipline, with technical experience in materials, pipelines, or fabrication
processes.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
-Advanced understanding of welding processes and weld overlay applications.
-Strong metallurgical knowledge, especially in carbon steel, low alloy, and CRA materials.
-Familiarity with mechanical, chemical, and corrosion testing methodologies.
-Practical knowledge of induction bending procedures.
-Expertise in international design codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO, DNV).
-Understanding of manufacturing techniques for fittings and flanges.
-Strong presentation and technical communication skills.
-Proven experience managing technical content in complex, deadline-driven environments.
