About the Job
- We are seeking a skilled Propulsion Systems Specialist to join our team.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform inspections, installations, repairs, upgrades, troubleshooting, and overhauls of propulsion systems and thrusters from various makers.
- Communicate with agents, ship owners, classes, and subcontractors via email and phone to arrange work and entry permits.
- Ensure timely reporting on job status and technical issues to customers and department managers.
- Prepare risk assessments and checklists for assigned job scopes.
- Coordinate with internal departments to complete jobs according to scope and schedule.
- Responsible for timesheet submissions and tracking man-hour and material costs within budgeted limits.
- Able to prepare written work reports and service reports with photos upon job completion.
- Provide formal investigation reports, repair proposals, and corrective actions during work progress.
- Generate spare parts lists required for overhauls and repairs.
- Create Gantt charts for work schedules.
- Maintain testing and monitoring equipment in good order.
- Prioritize safety and health for oneself and colleagues, adhering to company policies.
Requirements
- Qualified Engineer in Mechanical, Marine, Ship Repair, or related disciplines.
- At least 5 years of experience with propulsion systems or thrusters makers and marine/offshore experience.
- Preferably with sailing experience and Seaman book.
- Alignment experience with various equipment and knowledge of laser usage.
- Good experience in mechanical components of vessels such as gearboxes, pumps.
Key Skills
- Competent in Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in English – speaking and report writing.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Demonstrate ability to handle work professionally, independently, and efficiently.
- Able to travel frequently.
