We are looking for a Service Engineer – Propulsion Control Systems to handle installation, commissioning, diagnostics, and maintenance of advanced propulsion control and monitoring systems used in marine vessels.
Location - Dubai
Experience required - 3 to 5 years
What will you be doing:
Installation and Commissioning (New or retrofit) of Propulsion control system, Tuning, Troubleshooting and repairing of propulsion control systems (pitch, load, thrust, joystick, DP integration)
Perform onboard commissioning, retrofits, and periodic maintenance
Analyze system logs, trends, and alarms for performance tuning and fault diagnostics
Interface with clients, shipyards, and OEM partners professionally
Generate technical reports and service documentation
To be successful, you will need the following:
Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering.
3–5 years of relevant experience in marine automation/control systems (preferably propulsion or thruster controls-(Controllable pitch propellers(CPP),Steerable Thrusters, Retractable Thrusters, Waterjetsetc.)
Strong understanding of Various types of Drive motor Starter panels (Auto transformer, Soft Starter, VFDs etc.) and electrical circuits.
Strong understanding of PLC, HMI, and fieldbus communication protocols (e.g., CAN bus, Modbus, Profibus)
Knowledge in Hydraulic system.
Hands-on experience with Electro/Hydraulic pitch control systems
Willingness to travel and work onboard vessels or offshore platforms
Preferred Skills:
Excellent fault-finding and root cause analysis skills
Strong written and verbal communication
Self-motivated and safety-conscious

Manage, and monitor “Power Plants: Engines and APU Reliability Program” of the airline's and third-party aircrafts.
Encompasses short/long term maintenance needs and modifications to optimize engines and APUs’ reliability, achieve cost-effective operational dispatch, and ensure fleet readiness and safety. Oversees the implementation through completion of Engines and APUs maintenance programs.
- Manage the aircrafts’ “Power Plants” technical assessment program daily to support engineering maintenance (Line, Hangar, MCC, hubs), including data collection, performance review, analysis, management reporting, corrective measures, and modifications.
- Support the Head of Engineering in developing procedures, specifications, and EOS (Engineering Operational Standards) related to the “Propulsion Reliability Program”.
- Review publications and regulations related to “Propulsion” scope, ensure compliance, and optimize maintenance programs per operational needs and regulatory requirements.
- Use data and technical reports for root-cause analysis and troubleshooting, identify trends, and conduct investigations. Implement corrective measures and modifications, and incorporate recommendations into the Aircraft Maintenance Program (AMP) with justification.
- Generate reports on power plant reliability, damages, trends, and maintenance plans in coordination with planning teams.
- Support MCC, manufacturers, and OEMs by communicating troubleshooting requirements, modifications, and necessary actions.
- Review Service Bulletins and ADs, evaluate services, and draft Engineering Orders (EOs) for approval and communication to teams.

- Monitor engine oil consumption using data from systems like RAL to support ETOPS requirements and control costs.
- Partner with Finance to settle invoices related to functions.

- Bachelor's in Aircraft Engineering (Mechanical/Aeronautical) or equivalent; higher diploma or certificates from recognized institutions with relevant experience.
- Training on engine and APU systems, preferably Airbus 320.
- Additional certifications in Project Management, Cost Control, Compliance, Budgeting, and Quality Assurance are advantageous.
