The Role WellTax is an established and growing firm based in London (UK) and Dubai (UAE), which is looking for a Qualified Tax Consultant to join our office in Dubai (UAE). The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of UAE Corporate Tax (CT), Transfer Pricing (TP), and VAT regulations. Although the primary focus of this role is providing expert consultation on CT, VAT and TP issues within the UAE, the Tax Consultant will also be responsible for addressing international and cross-border tax matters. The consultant must evaluate and interpret relevant tax laws to offer informed and strategic advice. Furthermore, the role includes managing tax compliance for clients across various industries and countries. Ultimately, the Tax Consultant will be responsible for ensuring the accurate preparation of financial statements and compliance with relevant accounting standards. The candidate will lead and support the accounting team, oversee general ledger activities, and assist with audits and internal controls. This role is pivotal in upholding the integrity of financial reporting and driving operational efficiency.
Responsibilities- Manage Corporate Tax (CT), VAT and Transfer Pricing advisory and compliance projects in the UAE and globally, acting as the primary point of contact for clients.
- Draft tax memorandums, letters, compliance reports, and Private Clarifications requests.
- Provide expert advice on UAE CT & VAT issues, including registration, deregistration, and amendments.
- Apply OECD Transfer Pricing principles in client advisory work.
- Support senior managers in preparing proposals for clients and creating other related materials.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of VAT returns and statutory accounts, ensuring compliance with IFRS and other regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with external regulators and provide information required for auditors' reports.
- Prepare and review CT returns and disclosures accurately and on time.
- Acting as a point of contact for tax authorities, dealing with new queries and ensuring that any FTA inquiries are managed promptly and effectively.
- Stay updated on UAE Corporate tax and VAT regulations and legislative changes.
- Minimum of five years in accountancy or tax practice or related environment having multi-jurisdictional presence.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree is a plus).
- A relevant qualification (ACCA, ACA, CTA, ADIT or ATT) is required.
- Registered Tax Agent with the FTA for CT and VAT is required.
- Solid knowledge of international accounting and tax principles, laws, and regulations.
- Accurate and detailed oriented, confident and team player.
- Able to deal with client enquiries in a timely and precise manner.
- Flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks and Xero).
- Strong understanding of the UAE market, local business practices, and regulations.
- Fluency in English. Knowledge of Italian, Spanish and / or Arabic is highly desirable.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the UAE and occasionally internationally.
