The QC Coffee Specialist ensures that every batch of coffee—from green beans to the final cup—meets ROR Coffee's premium quality standards. This role combines technical expertise in coffee sensory evaluation, roasting analysis, and quality assurance with a passion for delivering exceptional coffee experiences. The specialist will work closely with the Roasting, Sourcing, and Barista teams to maintain consistency, innovation, and excellence across all coffee offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily cupping sessions to assess roasted coffee for aroma, flavor, body, acidity, and overall quality consistency.
  • Perform green coffee grading, defect analysis, and quality scoring to ensure only premium beans are used.
  • Collaborate with the Roaster to monitor and maintain roast profiles, ensuring consistency batch-to-batch.
  • Track, document, and analyze QC data, including cupping scores, roast curves, moisture content, and defect reports.
  • Assist in developing, blending, and testing new coffee profiles and seasonal offerings.

  • Maintain and calibrate all QC and cupping equipment, ensuring accurate and consistent measurements.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) or equivalent certification in coffee tasting, cupping, or sensory skills is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in cupping, green coffee grading, roast profiling, and defect identification.
  • Deep understanding of espresso and filter coffee extraction, coffee machinery, and brewing parameters.
