The Mechanical Quality Control Engineer will be responsible for supporting the preparation of quality documentation, including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), and reviewing construction documents for compliance with project quality requirements related to mechanical works.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in preparing quality documentation, including ITPs, and review construction documents for compliance with project quality requirements related to mechanical works.
- Monitor all phases and processes required for effective completion of all related mechanical works, including design, procurement, construction, and final handover.
- Monitor implementation of Method Statements and Inspection & Test Plans related to mechanical works, and ensure all necessary records are generated in a timely manner.
- Manage inspection and testing of mechanical works, including monitoring work of QC Inspectors under their authority.
- Monitor closeout of punch lists established for incomplete related to mechanical works.
- Monitor all measurement & testing instruments employed for mechanical works, ensuring they are functional and calibrated.
- Witness, review, and approve welder qualifications and WPS, PQR qualifications.
- Liaise and coordinate with 3rd Party Testing/Inspection Companies as required related to mechanical works.
- Perform statistical analysis and evaluation of test data related to mechanical works.
- Prepare, file, maintain test/inspection records, and any other quality records generated related to mechanical works.
- Assist construction personnel to identify and resolve problems and potential or actual non-conformances related to mechanical works.
- Advise QC Manager of non-conformance occurrences and raise a Non-conformance Report for non-compliant work, and monitor closeout and effectiveness of correction and corrective action undertaken.
- Assist QC Manager in undertaking periodic audits, including those of sub-contractors and suppliers, particularly technical compliance audits in their field of specialization.
- Witness all NDT and mechanical testing, including hydro testing, pneumatic testing, etc.
- Attend and witness Client verification of work (inspection, test, and the like) on site, and coordinate closeout of any and all outstanding issues related to civil works.
- Assist in preparation of final documents for certification.
- Assist in systems commissioning as required.
- Manage site interface with implementation contractor QC personnel, client QC personnel, management of QC inspectors. Knowledgeable in codes and standards, ADNOC specifications, SHELL DEP, familiar with site fabrication, construction activities.
- Strong understanding of mechanical quality control principles and practices.
