Job Description- You will work with the team to conduct cutting-edge AI and computational biology research. Your primary tasks will include improving existing models and exploring new methodologies to advance our AI capabilities in biology.
- You will work with the team on designing and executing experiments, analyzing complex datasets, and applying statistical techniques to validate the performance and robustness of AI systems.
- Additionally, you will collaborate closely with the AI/ML researchers and computational biologists on the team to develop our state-of-the-art AI for biology foundation models.

 NYUAD Water Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research scientist to work on the development of membrane desalination to treat water from the Arabian Gulf feed sources and on the design and scale-up of low energy membranes for water purification, under the supervision of Professor Nidal Hilal, Director of the Water Research Center and Global Professor of Engineering.   The successful applicant will drive an exciting project on developing functional membrane materials, including nanostructured polymer membranes tailored to microfiltration, ultrafiltration, membrane distillation, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis. The candidate will employ advanced membrane fabrication techniques and characterization tools (SEM, TEM, DSC, TGA, BET, etc.) to establish fabrication-structure-property-performance relationships in novel materials for sustainable desalination and water treatment. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists and engineers, graduate students and undergraduate students.   The successful applicant will manage projects and work closely with postdoctoral researchers, build deep technical knowledge and develop transferable solutions. Summary of the roleThe CSLC is looking to hire a researcher with expertise in glacier and ice shelf modelling. The scientist will work with others in a team to characterize Antarctic glaciers and assess their instability. The incumbent will perform research on the dynamics of Antarctic glaciers and the effect of ocean and atmosphere on their motion and instability. The work involves, in addition to modelling, the development of diagnostics using satellite and ground-based observational datasets and the possibility to join field campaigns in Arctic and Antarctic.

Job Title: Research Manager – Premarket Tobacco Application
Location: (Dubai, UAE) (Hybrid/Remote options may be considered)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Manager to lead and execute research activities related to Premarket Tobacco Applications (PMTAs). This critical role will be responsible for the design, implementation, and analysis of epidemiological and statistical studies to support PMTA submissions to the FDA. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in statistics and epidemiology, coupled with experience in the tobacco/nicotine industry and regulatory processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of research strategies for PMTA submissions, including clinical studies, epidemiological studies, and other relevant scientific investigations.
- Design and analyze epidemiological studies to assess the potential health effects of tobacco products.
- Apply advanced statistical methods to analyze complex datasets and generate meaningful insights for PMTA submissions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including regulatory affairs, product development, and marketing, to ensure alignment of research activities with overall business objectives.
- Manage external research vendors and consultants, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Prepare and review scientific documents for PMTA submissions, including study protocols, statistical analysis plans, and clinical study reports.
- Stay abreast of current regulatory requirements and scientific advancements related to PMTAs and the tobacco/nicotine industry.
- Present research findings to internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies.
- Contribute to the development of best practices for PMTA research and submissions.
- Mentor and supervise junior research staff (if applicable).
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Sc.D.) in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in epidemiological and statistical research, preferably within the tobacco/nicotine industry or a related regulated industry (e.g., pharmaceuticals, medical devices).
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and analyzing epidemiological studies, including cohort studies, case-control studies, and cross-sectional surveys.
- Strong proficiency in statistical programming languages (e.g., SAS, R) and statistical modeling techniques.
- Experience with PMTA submissions and FDA regulatory requirements is highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly and concisely present complex scientific information.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of tobacco/nicotine products and related health issues is a plus.
