ADNOC Global Trading LTD ("AGT") seeks an ambitious, motivated, Manager Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join its Finance team in Abu Dhabi.

AGT

Incorporated in the Abu Dhabi Global Market, Abu Dhabi's international financial centre, AGT commenced commercial operations in December 2020. It is owned by ADNOC (65%), Eni (20%) and OMV (15%). Head quartered in Abu Dhabi, it has ambitious plans for global growth. AGT has already established a subsidiary in Singapore which commenced operations this year, and expects to open in Europe and the US in the near future.

AGT's business is focused on the physical trading of crude oil, condensate, liquid feedstock and refined oil products, risk management activities (including hedging), shipping and chartering, storage and management of inventories, the trading of oil related derivatives and other ancilliary activities.

Job Purpose

The FPA Manager will drive the financial performance of the company by providing detailed analysis and reporting on financial results. This includes performance analysis by commodity book, region, and trading office, as well as benchmarking key metrics against competitors and providing insights into market conditions and geopolitical developments. The role supports strategic planning and trading strategies.

Job Specific Accountabilities
  • Analyze and report on the company's financial performance, providing actionable insights.
  • Deliver the full suite of performance reports to shareholders, the ADNOC Group, AGT management; provide information on an ad-hoc basis as requested.
  • Plan and lead benchmarking and marketing related studies on behalf of AGT related to planning & company performance.
  • Support strategic planning and trading strategies. Manage and monitor the overall performance of AGT to ensure alignment with ADNOC strategic objectives.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, with the international trading offices, and with the trading desks to gather and analyze financial data.
  • Ensure effective communication in delivering messages to enable efficient and effective management decision-making. Communicate all Performance Related Issues and lead all Performance Culture Awareness Sessions. Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, budgeting, and analyzing.
  • Leverage and further develop AI and Digital Technology opportunities to optimize performance analysis and reporting processes and the quality of performance reports.
Generic Accountabilities Operational Plans
  • Manage the implementation of the approved long- and short-term plans and ensure they are effectively converted into performance objectives to realise the Division Objectives and established service levels.
Budgets and Operational Plans
  • Monitor expenditure against approved Department budget on a regular basis; investigate, highlight and reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
  • Develop and implement appropriate Department policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures and internal controls, and AGT guidelines in order to support execution of the Division's work programs in line with AGT and International standards.
Performance Management
  • Contribute to the development of the Division's KPI's and ensure proper cascade of the Performance objectives within the Department
  • Establish monitoring mechanisms to ensure delivery of these objectives and promote a performance driven culture.
  • Manage the implementation of the AGT Performance Management System for individuals within the Department in accordance with AGT approved guidelines.
People Development
  • Develop knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit and support the establishment of Personal Development Plans (PDP's), Succession Planning and Talent pipeline within the Department in coordination with Human Capital to continuously develop employees with an emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet Emiratization targets.
Organisation Structure and Development
  • Review, develop and recommend the appropriate organisation structure for the Department that will best utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into on-going work practices to meet the business objectives.
Risk Management
  • Contribute and support the establishment of a Corporate Integrated Risk Management System within the Department, while identifying and assessing relevant domain risks and implementing measures to manage and mitigate all identified risks within the Department.
  • Communicate corporate business ethics and the Code of Conduct to employees within the Department and ensure compliance to the Corporate Policies and guidelines.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Promote an organisation culture that encourages innovation, enhances employee motivation and supports initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve the Department operations and services
  • Recommend improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with relevant standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the Department

  • Ensure that all transactions of ZSP & IRENA have been accounted for and accurately reflect all transactions.
  • Review and analyse the transactions in the GL periodically, prepare required journals to reclassify entries to the correct account and project, and review and process all subledgers inputs (namely Account Payable) prior to month end deadlines.
  • Work with project managers to ensure that accruals/provisions and prepayments are prepared and entered on a monthly basis and monitor the monthly costs on certain projects based on the activity code. Also prepare activity reports based on actual cost details against the activity budget.
  • Manage and prepare reconciliations along with supporting documents/schedules/information that are required for the monthly management file, quarterly and annual review by the external auditors, and information required to support the group information uploaded to the shareholder.
  • Manage the entire budgeting process for Government funded initiatives and liaise with the DOF to ensure alignment.
  • Manage and lead all Government initiative budget submissions and approvals with DoE.
  • Manage all monthly and quarterly submissions to DoE and ensure compliance with any imposed regulations and or instructions.
  • Provide full guidance to Masdar management on all DoE and DoF budget matters.
  • Lead, manage and prepare the DOF budget templates and communicate with the project managers on any new DOF/Abu Dhabi Executive Office guidelines.

Qualifications:

Overview

Masdar is the UAE's clean energy champion and one of the largest companies of its kind in the world, advancing the development and deployment of renewable energy and green hydrogen technologies to address global sustainability challenges. Established in 2006, Masdar is active in over 40 countries, helping them achieve clean energy objectives and sustainable development. Masdar is jointly owned by ADNOC, Mubadala, and TAQA, and targets a renewable energy portfolio capacity of at least 100 GW by 2030 and an annual green hydrogen production capacity of up to 1 million tonnes by the same year.

Responsibilities
  • Support the management and preparation of group management reporting for all key internal and external stakeholders, including functional heads, executive management, Board of Directors, Shareholders, and other key stakeholders.
  • Prepare and analyze Group Financial Forecasts, Group budgets and business plans, Group performance scorecards, and other ad-hoc management reporting as required.
  • Analyze financial performance and management reports, providing meaningful commentary on performance and key drivers, with recommendations to management on opportunities to optimize financial performance.
  • Contribute to the definition and implementation of reporting requirements from investee entities and assets to ensure timely and efficient group reporting.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information and reports from the GL team and management accountants, and explain significant variances.
  • Assist in the preparation and issuance of the Group management reports in line with stakeholder requirements, including but not limited to monthly flash reports, executive reports, and management reports with defined timelines.
  • Provide analysis and commentary on financial performance, including comparisons of actuals, forecasts, and budgets, and identify opportunities to optimize performance.
  • Implement changes to reporting and consolidation templates and communicate reporting needs to management accountants.
  • Coordinate with procurement on ICV exercises and align internal financial scorecard metrics with corporate scorecards.
  • Coordinate regular review meetings with Functional Heads on corporate performance and internal financial scorecards to align on performance status, risks, and opportunities.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and business planning for Masdar and Masdar Green Hydrogen, including planning timetable, asset plans, and budget inputs from platforms and investees; review budgets with internal stakeholders and shareholder representatives for alignment before submission.
  • Participate in quarterly re-forecasting and handle ad-hoc forecast requests at consolidated and function level.
  • Prepare monthly DEVEX report to key stakeholders.
Qualifications Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
  • Qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA) is an asset.
Experience Preferred Experience
  • 4-6 years of experience in financial planning and reporting.
  • Experience at group financial planning and reporting level in large multinational companies with similar responsibilities is an asset.
Job-Specific Skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a consultative approach in a corporate/multifunctional environment.
  • Good knowledge of ERP environments and IFRS.
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning and reporting systems and tools.
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and internal controls, and knowledge of international auditing standards.
