Main Duties and Responsibilities :

Contract Management

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited law school or university.
  • Admission as an attorney in a known jurisdiction.
  • Active membership in the bar association in a known jurisdiction.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience practicing law with a focus on contract law, preferably in a corporate or business environment.
  • Proven track record of drafting, negotiating, and managing complex contracts.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and legal issues impacting the industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of risk management processes within Enterprise Risk Management team in the region.
  • Ensure timeliness, quality of execution and service delivery by team members on various regulatory and adhoc projects.
  • Lead discussions and drive transformation for the risk function with various stakeholders.
  • Appraise and contribute to the development of the Bank's strategic plans and alignment with risk appetite.
  • Continuously enhance risk measures and transparency.
  • Supervise and coordinate all related processes where the Enterprise Risk Management team is identified as process owner across the region.
  • Lead and develop an effective and impactful regional Enterprise Risk Management team.
  • Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of the Function's people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles.
  • Review and challenge the country strategy where it is not aligned with the country risk appetite.
  • Ensure new activities, changes to processes and products conform with the Change Management Policy, Project Governance Policy and the Product Governance Policy.
  • Oversee Risk Governance activities within the function.
  • Maintain an open and cooperative relationship in dealing with the regulators in-country.
  • Ensure that material risk exposures and related issues are reported to the responsible risk governance committees.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

  • Experience in risk governance / risk management / Operational Risk.
  • Excellent analytical skills and sound judgement in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability for problem solving, working independently and attention to detail.

  • Professional certification in FRM, PRM, CFA is recommended but not mandatory
  • Aptitude for quantitative analysis and strong numerical skills with evidence of advanced financial modeling skills
  • Experience in analytical and risk management tools/systems (e.g. Python, R, SAS, MATLAB, Calypso, Murex, etc.)

About the role

  • What you will be doing

    • Sells products and/or services and develops new account relationships.
    • Solicits and maintains network of prospects.
    • Initiates contact with prospective customers to sell targeted FIS products and/or services.

    • Demonstrates product knowledge including various solutions markets and competitive intelligence.

Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain Flipster’s enterprise risk management strategy, risk appetite, and tolerance thresholds in alignment with regulatory expectations and business objectives.
  • Serve as the principal advisor to the Board and CEO on all risk-related matters.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to adapt our strategies and risk appetite accordingly.
  • Build, operationalize, and evolve a risk governance framework covering market, credit, liquidity, operational, product, technology, cybersecurity, people, and third-party (outsourcing) risks.
  • Lead the Risk Committee and ensure periodic risk reviews and Board reporting.
  • Conduct dynamic and ongoing risk assessments with emphasis on market volatility, counterparty exposure, liquidity stress, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and maintain robust quantitative and qualitative risk measurement tools and indicators.
  • Analyze crypto assets and investment strategies for potential risks and vulnerabilities, and develop effective mitigation strategies while evaluating new investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business units to refine risk controls and support new product development.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Product, and Operations teams to embed risk controls into workflows and support strategic initiatives.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and auditors to ensure unwavering compliance.
  • Act as the key point of contact for VARA and other relevant regulators, ensuring timely submission of risk reports and regulatory updates.
  • Represent Flipster in industry risk forums and engage with external auditors and consultants.
  • Lead incident response and crisis management efforts across business units.
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to develop and maintain Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery (BCP/DR) plans.
  • Establish and manage constructive relationships with insurance partners to ensure appropriate coverage—including custody and Directors & Officers (D&O) insurance—and to support effective risk transfer strategies in the event of cyber incidents, asset loss, or other operational disruptions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in risk management within regulated financial services, including at least 3 years in digital asset or crypto platforms.
  • Strong understanding of Blockchain and cryptocurrency specific risks.
  • Expertise in designing and managing enterprise-wide risk frameworks, policies, and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of quantitative risk metrics, Value at Risk (VaR), stress testing, and exposure modeling.
  • In-depth understanding of UAE and global crypto regulatory frameworks, particularly VARA’s rulebooks and risk-related requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex risk issues to senior stakeholders and regulators.
  • Proven leadership and collaboration skills across functional teams and geographies.
Preferred
  • Professional certifications (e.g., FRM, CFA, PRM, CAMS, CISA, CRISC) are highly preferred.

Job Purpose:

To ensure strong credit underwriting in line with Board of Directors approved Credit Policy and simultaneously ensuring adherence to underwriting standards from CBUAE.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Receive credit proposals from respective RM's and perform detailed credit analysis to assess • the credit worthiness of the proposal.
  • Assess the gap in the required documents provided by RM's as part of the credit proposal and to seek clarification from RM's to ensure that all relevant information is available.
  • Perform all necessary due diligence check including AECB and CBRB while preparing credit proposals to be presented to Credit Committee.
  • Critically analyse and review the proposal/facility request in line with internal bank's policy and procedure and adherence to regulatory guidance from CBUAE.
  • Engage with RM's to prepare new Product Program Guide (PPG) and simultaneously review it though CRO to present the PPG to New Product Development Committee.
  • Assist CRO in updating credit policies and procedures to incorporate regulatory changes and establishing credit control around newly launched product.
  • Assist Credit Risk Team to monitor and evaluate all active facilities (Lombard Lending and 1Margin Loan Facilities) to reduce/ prevent portfolio credit deterioration.
  • Ensure to handle the documentation aspects of credit underwriting to ensure alignment from governance perspective:
  • Documentation of Client Credit Files lodging.
  • Minutes of the Credit Committee Meeting.
  • Documentation of all the financial details provided by the client to perform credit assessment for audit trails in client's file.
  • Upload documents in Document Management System (DMS).
  • Documented history of all the credit clients since inception of the Loans.
  • Evaluate financial status of potential customers, monitor existing clients, perform risk assessments, and generate informed credit reports.
  • Assist Credit Risk Team in regular monitoring of credit portfolio and review credit adherence to policy and regulatory restrictions and guidelines.
  • Alert the CRO to any emerging credit facility related deterioration to take adequate action and assign adequate provisions.
  • Seek and obtain active Business feedback on delinquent exposures while maintaining objectivity in pursuing requisite remedial action(s).
  • Assist Credit Risk Team/ Take lead in absence to monitor and report any excesses/ breaches and activate margin calls/ close-outs.
  • Plan and meet external/ regulatory reporting deadlines.
  • Monitor and report (internal) stakeholder compliance with credit risk policies and guidelines.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Total experience of 8 years to 10 years, with a minimum of 5 years in a credit role within the Banking industry.
  • Proven expertise in credit underwriting, credit risk management, credit administration, and credit analysis.
  • Master's degree – CA, CFA, or MBA highly desirable.
  • Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills
  • Proficiency in Arabic is an added advantage.
