Job Description:
Parsons is looking for a talented Road Safety Auditor to join our team! In this role you will get to conduct road safety audits on all types of projects.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Conduct road safety audits on all types of projects at all stages of the design and construction process. These will include concept, preliminary and detailed design stages and postconstruction Stage 3 audits, including interim stage 3 audits for large or complex projects.
- RSAs may also be required for temporary traffic management works for on-going road works or utility works on major roads and for dedicated events.
- Undertake road safety reviews as required for locations or roads with identified road safety issues to propose appropriate counter measures to improve safety using known effective counter measures or innovative remedial measures to be developed as pilot projects which will be monitored to evaluate their effectiveness.
- Propose remedial measures including non-engineering solutions using enforcement and / or educational tools based on best international practices.
- Road safety engineering countermeasures to be based on proven international experience using tools from available resources such as PIARC, International Road Federation, iRAP, and the Global World Safety Partnership.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or similar field.
- Five years’ experience in road safety engineering remedial measures development, implementation and evaluation, including the use of crash modification factors (CMF or CRF) and collision data analysis including the use of GIS Mapping systems (MapInfo or ArcGIS or similar).
- Five years’ experience of road safety audits across all types of projects from major regional development plans, highways, grade-separated intersections, single carriageway and dual carriageway roads, large and small developments, cycle tracks, and temporary traffic management.
- Should meet the requirements of Audit Team Leader as per Emirate of Abu Dhabi Road Safety Audit Manual TR-540
- Minimum of two year’s road design experience with construction or maintenance experience desirable.
- Sound knowledge of the main road design standards , i.e. AASHTO, DMRB or EN standards with particular emphasis on geometric design, signing and road marking.
- Good knowledge of current trends and initiatives to improve road safety with special emphasis on Vision Zero Road Safety Strategies and the Safe Systems Approach.
- Road Safety Auditor Member / Leader Membership from an internationally recognized organization such as SoRSA, CIHT, Trans-European Road Network (TERN) or IRF.

- Develop and implement plans i.e. Road Safety Operations, Detour, journey management, traffic management etc.
- Develop and implement Emergency Response Plan related to road safety operations.
- Develop and implement HSE and Driver Safety induction.
- Plan and conduct campaigns related to Road Safety Operations.
- Conduct Road Safety Trainings.
- Have in depth knowledge in presenting monthly / weekly road safety operations reports.
- Develop and implement inspection regime of Road Safety operations.

- MonitorIn-Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS)data to identify speeding harsh braking fatigue and unauthorized trips; generate performance reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure all project vehicles areequipped functional and calibratedwith IVMS and other required safety devices.
- Conductdriver inductions competency assessments and defensive driving training; maintain updated driver records and licenses.
- Review and approveJourney Management Plans (JMPs)for high-risk or long-distance travel track vehicle movements and respond to transport emergencies.
- Investigate vehicle incidents and near-misses prepare reports and follow up on preventive actions.
- Performroad risk assessmentsto identify hazards along designated routes and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate with site teams contractors and ADNOC transport/HSE representatives to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- SupportHSE campaigns toolbox talks and awareness programsrelated to road and transport safety.
- Prepare and submitdaily weekly and monthly transportation safety reportsand maintain KPIs for management review.
Qualifications :
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelors degree or equivalent.
- ADNOC-approvedRoad Safety / IVMS / LTS certification(preferred).
- Minimum5 yearsof experience intransport safety IVMS monitoring or road safety coordinationwithin Oil & Gas projects (UAE experience preferred).
- Proven knowledge ofADNOC LTS Standardsand UAE traffic regulations.
- Strong knowledge of defensive driving principles and road safety legislation.
- Good communication skills inEnglish
- Ability to train mentor and influence drivers and transport teams.
Certifications
- First Aid & Basic Life Support.
- NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent HSE qualification.
