Leams Education is inviting applications from school experienced Health & Safety Officer (Female) with NEBOSH certification, to ensure that all health and safety protocols are being adhered to in compliance with KHDA/DHA/DM guidelines.

Roles and responsibilities :

Developing regulations, policies, standards and guidelines to improve health and safety procedures for the school related to the safety and security of students, people and property.
Monitoring the implementation of these procedures.

Conducting all necessary contact tracing procedures by coordinating with the school clinic (which include contact tracing, recording of contacts’ details and all actions taken in the HASANA system).
Managing all emergency situations abiding by H&S protocols.
Updating contact and emergency numbers for staff and students.
Scheduling stakeholders’ meetings to address the priorities and result-oriented solutions.
Coordinating with the operations/maintenance team to ensure that H&S safety protocols are strictly followed.
Stop any unsafe acts or processes that seem dangerous or unhealthy.
Record and investigate incidents; conduct a risk analysis.
Prepare reports on occurrences and provide statistical information to the school management
Requirements:

Proven experience as a school Health and Safety Officer with NEBOSH/IOSH CERTIFICATION

Knowledge of the principles of safety, accident, and fire prevention.

Ability to maintain composure and respond properly during emergencies.

Knowledge of regulatory policies, procedures, rules and regulations

Experience in writing incident reports and policies for health and safety.

Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.

  • Audits & Inspections: Coordinate internal and external audits, respond to findings, and implement corrective actions.

  • Document Control: Maintain HSE documentation, policies, and ensure compliance with ADEK formatting and Cognita requirements.
  • Health & Safety Committee: Chair the committee with a focus on analysis, improvement, and collaboration.
  • Safety Culture Leadership: Promote a proactive and positive approach to health and safety across the organisation.

Successful candidates will:

  • Hold bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Hold NEBOSH certificate/diploma.
  • Have minimum of 3 years’ experience in a health and safety advisory role.
  • Have strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Have proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Have IT proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Have experience in incident investigation and report writing.
  • Have experience working within the education sector. (Desirable)
