Job Purpose

Maintain and update the SAS Safety Compliance & Security Policies and Procedures through oversight and implementation of safety & security practices to promote operational awareness, minimize losses, and mitigate risks.

Accountabilities

1. Monitor, evaluate, inspect, and assess SAS ground operations for safety and security deficiencies, ensuring compliance with SAS Safety and Security management systems.
2. Identify hazards, assess security threats and safety risks, and recommend preventive and corrective actions in line with international and local Civil Aviation requirements, customer airline procedures, and industry best practices.
3. Prepare safety and security review reports for senior management based on the company safety & security database/statistics.
4. Conduct periodic safety & security audits and inspections to ensure operations comply with company procedures, international and local Civil Aviation standards, and customer airline procedures.
5. Train company personnel in Safety Management System and Aviation Security, including updating training materials and leading training sessions to foster a safety and security culture.
6. Oversee and implement the safety risk management system at corporate and operational levels, including leading investigations, assessing safety risks, and analyzing data.
7. Develop and review the Annual Audits and Inspections Schedule and checklists to ensure compliance with industry standards, liaising with DCA and airport authorities on safety and security issues.
8. Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions.
9. Lead investigations of serious safety incidents or accidents, prepare investigation reports, and assist with investigations of minor and moderate incidents.
10. Adhere to the company’s Safety Compliance, Security, and Health & Safety policies.

Qualification and Experience

Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.

Experience: Minimum of 7 years, including at least 5 years in the aviation industry, with knowledge of GCAA requirements.

Valid UAE Driving License, including special licenses such as Airport Driving Permit.

The extent of your duties will include :

About the team

The Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) department, also known as the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) department, plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of employees within Amazon. The WHS team is responsible for developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures, conducting risk assessments and audits, and investigating accidents and incidents to determine the causes and propose measures to prevent future occurrences. They also have an advisory role for associates and managers in the field of Amazon's legal procedures and requirements. The WHS team is comprised of Safety Specialists, Injury Prevention Specialists, Onsite Medical Representatives, and Hazardous Materials personnel who work together to uphold and advance Amazon's Global Workplace Health and Safety System. • You have significant experience as WHS Compliance Manager, ideally gained in the Middle East Region

Role Overview
The Food Safety & Halal Compliance Specialist works internationally to evaluate the food safety and halal compliance of all existing and potential food & beverage suppliers and their products. They will ensure that all appropriate globally recognised regulatory standards are met and maintain the supplier evaluation system through the Emirates catering management portal.
Key Responsibilities

• Schedule, plan, and prepare annual work programmes for assessing food safety & halal compliance audits of selected Emirates F&B partners globally, which may require extensive international travel.
• Conduct independent, fair, and thorough food safety and Halal audits at global Emirates F&B partners, adhering to internationally recognised principles of auditing.
• Develop and update the EK food safety and Halal compliance manuals.

• Manage the product recall process, conduct mock recalls, and ensure documentation and team readiness.

• A Degree or Honours (12+3) in Science, Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Environmental Health, or related fields.
• Recognised Food Safety and Halal Internal or Lead Auditor Qualification.
• At least 5+ years of experience in conducting Food Safety and Quality Audits.
