  • Implement EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) standards in alignment with Siemens and project contract requirements.
  • Develop health and safety plans that ensure compliance with legal, customer, and organizational guidelines.
  • Implement and monitor EHS Management Systems following ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, as well as corporate and customer requirements.
  • Participate in EHS core team meetings to identify workplace hazards and establish control measures, including for electrical installations, testing and commissioning, hot work, height work, civil work, mechanical and manual material handling, confined spaces, and machine safety.
  • Provide guidance and training to site personnel on EHS practices and safety protocols.

Desired Qualifications and Skills
  • 7-10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a preference for candidates who have experience in power plants (e.g., switchyards, switchgears, drives, turbines, transformers, and Electrical Balance of Plant).
  • A full-time Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, along with an M. Tech in Industrial Safety or an Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety (ADIS) approved by the state technical board/RLI/CLI.
  • Strong team player and collaborator with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with lean and agile methods, along with validated tools.
  • Willingness to travel and relocate across India based on project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Occupational Health & Safety Management:

  • Develop, review, and update HSE policies, procedures, and programs tailored to a banking environment (e.g., ergonomics, slip/trip/fall prevention, branch security protocols).
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and workplace inspections of head offices, branch locations, and data centers to identify potential hazards (e.g., electrical safety, workstation setup, indoor air quality).
  • Lead the bank's ergonomics program, including workstation assessments and employee training on proper ergonomic practices to prevent musculoskeletal disorders.
  • Manage the incident reporting and investigation process for all work-related injuries, illnesses, and near-misses. Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain the bank's First Aid program, including coordinating training for First Aid responders and managing supplies.

2. Environmental Compliance & Sustainability:

  • Develop and implement environmental programs focusing on waste reduction, recycling, energy efficiency, and water conservation across bank facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations pertaining to waste management (e.g., electronic waste) and other applicable laws.
  • Support the bank's corporate sustainability initiatives by tracking and reporting on key environmental metrics.

3. Compliance & Training:

  • Stay current with all local, state, and federal HSE regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.) and ensure the bank's compliance.
  • Develop and deliver engaging HSE training programs for employees at all levels, including topics such as emergency procedures, fire safety, ergonomics, and general safety awareness.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records, including training logs, incident reports, inspection reports, and permits.

4. Emergency Preparedness & Business Continuity:

  • Develop and maintain emergency response plans for various scenarios (fire, medical emergency, severe weather, security threats).
  • Organize and evaluate emergency drills (e.g., fire evacuations) in collaboration with security and facilities management.
  • Act as a key liaison with local emergency services.

5. Culture & Engagement:

  • Promote a positive safety culture through awareness campaigns, communications, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Chair or participate in the bank's Health & Safety Committee.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee HSE-related inquiries and concerns.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of proven experience in an HSE role, preferably within a corporate, service-based, or financial services environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant HSE standards.
