Job Purpose
The jobholder is responsible for providing engineering expertise in leading Process Control Reliability for Borouge Assets and Plants to enhance operations' operability, safety, productivity, and quality. This role includes leading the engineering expertise in Process Control Reliability for Borouge Assets and Plants, reviewing plant change requests related to DCS logics, preparing engineering packages, participating in RCA investigations, and ensuring updated documents in EDMS; while acting as the main focal person for MOC s related to DCS logic changes, supporting AIDT activities, and implementing new process control techniques.
Key Accountabilities
- Engineering Expertise & Process Control
Provide engineering expertise in leading Process Control Reliability for Borouge Assets and Plants to enhance operations' operability, safety, productivity, and quality. Review all Plant change requests related to DCS logics as per the Management of Change process to ensure feasibility and proper implementation. Prepare engineering packages containing all red line documents related to changes to ensure accurate documentation and implementation. Ensure updated documents are always available in EDMS to maintain accurate records and support efficient operations. Participate in RCA investigations of major plant upsets to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences. - Process Control Change Management
Act as the main focal person for all MOC s related to DCS logic changes to ensure proper identification and implementation of logic changes. Prepare engineering packages containing red documents for all related changes in documents, including Logic diagrams, Logic descriptions, and Cause & effect diagrams. Participate in PSSR to verify changes done by the Automation team from Asset Management to ensure reliability of process systems. Ensure all related Engineering documents related to the MOC are updated in EDMS to maintain accurate and up-to-date records. Share changes performed in control schemes and logics in one plant with all other PO assets for continuous improvement. Support AIDT task force for continuous improvement by implementing new process control techniques. - Advanced Process Control (APC) Reliability Support
Act as the main focal person for APC in PO plants to ensure the reliability of process control systems for effective use by operations. Support AIDT activities for continuous improvement of process control systems to achieve maximum plant production by effective utilization of assets. Ensure continuous availability of Advanced Process Control Systems in all PO plants to achieve efficient operation. Participate in RCA analysis in case major plant processes upset by analyzing process events and alarms. Implement new process control techniques to support continuous improvement and maximize production. Ensure the reliability of process control systems to achieve efficient operation of the plant and maximize production. - Documentation and Continuous Improvement
Ensure updated documents are always available in EDMS to maintain accurate records and support efficient operations. Share changes performed in control schemes and logics in one plant with all other PO assets for continuous improvement. Support AIDT task force for continuous improvement by implementing new process control techniques. Participate in RCA investigations of major plant upsets to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences. Ensure all related Engineering documents related to the MOC are updated in EDMS to maintain accurate and up-to-date records. Prepare engineering packages containing all red line documents related to changes to ensure accurate documentation and implementation. - HSE Excellence & Compliance
Identify statutory requirements coming as per the government regulation, ADNOC standards, OEM, Suppliers, international standards to produce procedures, work instructions and checklist for various activities and requirements. Propose improvements in business processes and procedures to reduce risk and improve safety standards of the plant. Keep abreast and knowledgeable on the updates for Health, Safety, Environment, Crisis Management, and Risk Registers for all the performed processes, projects, and activities within the operating zone. Promote, communicate, and lead by example all the safety-related communications, updates, standards, and any related topics with co-workers and within any interface. Contribute to provide timely feedback and recommendations to leverage a risk-free environment to ensure the ultimate goals of safe workplace.
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- Minimum Qualification
University degree in Chemical Engineering or Instrumentation & Control, or any related discipline. Fluency in English Language; written and oral. - Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
Minimum of 8 years of total experience in Petrochemical, Oil and Gas industry working as process engineer or Control Engineer. Minimum of 3 - 6 years of experience in Process Control or Control systems. Well versed with reading and understanding of logic diagrams, Control schemes, Complex loops and Sequences. Well versed with Plant DCS system to analyze the logic configuration, point configuration and sequences very good experience with Borstar process technology for PE & PP plants to understand the process requirements and identify logic improvements. Working knowledge on HSE policies applicable in chemical & petrochemical industry. Knowledge and understanding of planning tools, techniques, philosophy, and processes existing in an oil/gas or petrochemical industry. Facilitation execution by overcoming barriers and obstacles within the complex projects/conditions. And initiate inter-departmental collaboration on projects or methods of operating. - Professional Certifications
Preferred to be certified in Project Management; i.e., PMP, etc.
