We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Scheduling Expert to spearhead project scheduling and control functions for large-scale construction or oil & gas projects in the Middle East. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in planning and project controls with the ability to guide a team interface with stakeholders and drive project success through meticulous planning and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and monitor comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent tools.
Prepare baseline schedules, look-ahead plans, progress measurement systems, and recovery plans.
Lead project planning meetings and coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
Conduct critical path analysis, delay analysis, and resource/cost loading assessments.
Generate weekly and monthly progress reports and dashboards for management and client stakeholders.
Identify schedule variances, trends, and deviations; propose mitigation and recovery strategies.
Manage project change requests and assess time impact analysis for variation orders.
Ensure alignment between project schedules and cost control budgets.
Maintain an interface with clients, consultants, and subcontractors regarding project status and schedule risks.
Lead and mentor junior planners and ensure adherence to planning standards and procedures.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil / Mechanical / Electrical or equivalent)
Master's Degree in Project Management is desirable
PMP certification is preferred
Minimum 7 years of experience in the Middle East as a Planning Engineer in the Construction or Oil & Gas sector
Key Skills and Competencies:
Expertise in Primavera P6, MS Project, and MS Office Suite

The role is accountable for the management of the project controls team deployed on various projects. Project control support is given to the Project Management team who acts on behalf of the client (Khafji Joint Operations, KJO) and delivers the program of projects.
The role will also be involved in review of early-stage deliverables (FEL1 and FEL2), as far as cost, schedule and risk is concerned, produced by KJO front end development department.
Knowledge / Experience (Skills)- At least fourteen (14) years of experience of which at least ten (10) years in direct involvement in project management, planning, scheduling, cost estimation, cost and budget control, procurement tracking and monitoring / forecasting of engineering and construction activities for major oil and gas projects. Asset Integrity experience is an added advantage.
- PMC experience at similar role for at least several years is preferable.
- Working knowledge of various contracting types and strategies related to project execution.
- Prior experience in schedule and cost benchmarking of oil and gas upstream projects.
- Computer literate with all MS Packages, particularly Word and Excel proficient. Working knowledge of Primavera P6 package.
- An engineering, construction, or project management degree.
