A typical day as a Cogniter will contain the following tasks & responsibilities
- Help clients understand and validate the capabilities of Cognite technology to deliver critical business value. This would be done by leading early discovery workshops that identify the business needs and industry readiness of Cognite clients.
- Explain and demonstrate how Cognite Data Fusion and Cognite Applications can solve the critical challenges leading to realizable value at scale.
- The role combines technical expertise, customer-facing capabilities, and business acumen. This requires an ability to provide expert guidance to account teams, improve existing demos, and tailor messaging to meet our customers' specific objectives.

We believe most of these should match your experience
- Master’s/PhD degree in a relevant technical topic (Process, Mechanical, Automation, Maintenance, HSEQ, Planning, EPC projects) and/or previous experience from a similar role.
- Experience from Downstream and/or Process Industry ((Refineries - Separation, Conversion, Treatment, Planning, Utilities) / (Process - Continuous, Batch Manufacturing for bulk, intermediate and speciality chemicals)) with proven understanding of the current challenges and opportunities digitalization can provide to solve them.
- Experience of implementing Industry 4.0 projects and understanding of industry 4.0 technologies is desirable.
- Strong interest and experience in IOT technologies, Machine Learning and Digital Twins/ Data Modeling.
- Additional language full proficiency is regarded as a plus.
- Team player, used to work well in a cross-functional team.
- Strong proficiency and proven experience in demonstrating and leading technical validation programs for enterprise software sales.
- Ability to lead requirements and value definition workshops.

What you will do
The Pre Sales Engineer is key a role directly reporting to Domain Leader – HVAC. You will be based in Dubai and will be a part of a growing team and be responsible for driving the growth of business for Install division segment of Building Technology and Solutions with focus on HVAC Systems.

You’ll manage multiple tenders simultaneously, using your extensive estimation experience to co-ordinate with the client on specifications and technical clarifications ensuring we submit proposals that are competitive, meet requirements and are on time.
As an Experienced Pre Sales Engineer, you need to have a good knowledge in designing and estimation of HVAC system solutions involving Chillers, AHU, FCU systems.
As an HVAC solution specialist, you will be leading the peer-to-peer meetings with Operations; Procurement, commercial team and other internal stake-holders as necessary to ensure project scope, objectives, timeline, and customer requirements are complied as part of the solution proposed to the customer.

About the role

- Promote equipment’s like VRF and DX systems to industry experts, developers, architects, MEP consultants, and contractors.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders involved in the decision-making process.
- Ensure the CRM platform is up to date for customer data, your sales activities and forecast.
- Stay appraised and report on market developments (Report on sales progress and advise/alert if any problems may arise).
- Preparing techno-commercial proposals.
- Support debtor collections.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, in HVAC equipment field ideally from a distributor.
- Knowledge of VRF and DX System.
- Self-motivated and autonomous working.
- Ability to establish rapport and credibility based on trust and delivery.
- Decisiveness when dealing with complexity and conflicting demands.
- Tact, diplomacy and calmness when working under pressure.
- Collaborative, creative and networking approach to reach business objectives.
- Clear and influential communicator.
- Data management expertise e.g., use of CRM systems.
- Should be technically adept to support customers on queries & selection.
- Good communication skills in English. Arabic would be preferred.
