Job Purpose

Roles & Responsibilities

Market Research

  1. Conduct periodic market research on rental rates to ensure proper setting of internal rates for Aldar residential and commercial portfolio.

The principal responsibility for the position is the coordination and management of all administration functions relating to a specific group of clients.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Review of Net Asset Valuation (NAV) files for a variety of Private Equity funds, ensuring their accuracy
    and compliance with fund governing and regulatory procedure.
  • Review of annual financial statement.
  • Calculation and processing of fund capital calls and distribution.
  • Assist in the preparation and completion of the audit process for assigned relationships
  • Investor onboarding including AML/KYC documents review
  • Assist in staff collaboration and ensure that client deliverables are being met

Job Purpose

Job Description:

The Vice President - Operational Risk is responsible for implementing and maintaining RAKBANK Group's Operational and Conduct Risk Management frameworks across all business and operational areas. This critical role demands rigorous engagement with senior and executive management, management committees, and various stakeholders, including audit teams and regulators, to ensure the utmost effectiveness of internal controls and risk management practices. The position requires meticulous risk assessments, stringent implementation of control measures, and vigilant maintenance of risk management policies and procedures.

Operational Risk & Internal Controls:

  • Implement and administer Operational Risk Management and Conduct Risk Management programmes with utmost diligence, including RSCA and specialized risk assessments.
  • Oversee the implementation, administration, and continuation of Operational Risk Management and Conduct Risk Management frameworks and programmes, such as RSCA, KRI Reporting, and loss data reporting, throughout RAKBANK Group's first and second lines of defence.
  • Engage in formal interactions with RAKBANK Group's Senior & Executive Management and Management Committees on critical matters of Internal Controls, Operational Risk, and Conduct Risk Management.
  • Establish and maintain professional relationships of the highest calibre with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, external and internal audit teams.
  • Provide comprehensive training, expert advice, guidance, and support to team members to ensure optimal team effectiveness and maintain the highest standards of risk management.
  • Provide strategic direction for the update of the Group's Operational Risk Management and Conduct Risk Management Frameworks.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of new products and processes, and modifications to existing ones, ensuring their implementation aligns strictly with the Bank's internal policies, control standards, and Central Bank Regulations.
  • Critically evaluate and approve process changes proposed by Operating / Business units, permitting incorporation into Operating Procedures only if the proposal meets the Bank's stringent internal policies, control standards, and Central Bank Regulations.
  • Ensure Operating Procedures are drafted to the highest standard and are documented with efficient turnaround times. Oversee the release of new or amended Operating Procedures on the Bank's intranet after rigorous verification of correct documentation.

  • Provide constant progress updates and monthly written reports on construction progress.
  • Identify major issues or conflicts and recommend appropriate solutions.

Job Description

JOB PURPOSE


•Manage the vertical and mixed-use design activities across all projects under construction to ensure adherence to standards and cost effectiveness


•Lead the development of master plans that conform to Business Plans (BP) from Development Management

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PRE-DESIGN


•Provide overall design direction on feasibility / test fits


•Provide input and innovative ideas to development management


•Manage the creation of client design briefs


•Participate in prequalification process and assist and oversee assessments of consultant


•Assist and oversee the Brief and the Scope sections of the RFP


•Oversee and approve tender evaluations for technical stage submissions


•Establish and manage the Aldar Design Guidelines with input from DM and PDT


•Oversee, review and approve the Project Implementation Plan for each project


•Oversee and approve the Bidders Recommendation Report

DESIGN


•Participate in all Architectural and vertical design presentations and review all design related submittals from concept to final delivery


•Manage consultant contract in relation to contract implementation, measuring completed work for payments, variation orders etc.


•Manage and approve all proposed value engineering options


•Oversee the management design progress against the programme


•Review design documentation for the purpose of validating brief / code compliance


•Responsible for obtaining design NOCs in conjunction with government relations.


•Manage obtaining Utility/DOT/ADM/ etc NOC'sin order to obtain a Building Permit through the consultants


•Review and approve all proposed materials, their substitutes and colours


•Ensure adherence to Estidama standards


•Liaise with consultants and ensure that all drawing submittals are in line with Aldar specifications


•Review consultants work submittals against project brief and recommend changes in case of deviation


•Ensure that adequate level of support is provided to project teams during execution and commissioning through design reviews for constructability issues


•Ensure possible value engineering ideas are identified to cut costs/time and provide recommendations to project teams


•Ensure that all vertical design changes are clearly communicated to DM & related functions to be reflected in the forecasts


•Work closely with Master Planning and Infrastructure teams to ensure design fit with overall plan


•Ensure the issuance of all required government permits and construction licenses


•Carry out weekly and monthly reporting of progress and issues to the line manager

YoE / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

RELATED YEAR OF EXPERIENCE

Min of 10+ years of experience in design process for developments with CAPEX 4+ billion AED

YOE IN MANAGERIAL POSITION

Min of 2+ years in a managerial position

SECTOR EXPERIENCE

Retail estate sector, construction

TECHNICAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS


•Deep exposure to GCC region and adjacent markets preferred


•Demonstrated track record in real estate developments


•Excellent design & master-planning capabilities


•Strong conflict resolution/management skills


•Strong team player with ability to balance conflicting priorities and take timely decisions


•Excellent analytical skills


•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required to present master plans to senior leaders for approval


•Experienced in working with and leading multi-disciplinary teams that include members from Business Planning, Master Planning, Design, Project Management, Procurement and Commercial functions

QUALIFICATION

JOB PURPOSE


•Ensure that Aldar is compliant with its regulatory compliance obligations, financial crime awareness and adherence to internal policies


•Support business functions achieve their objectives whilst striving for excellence in the spheres of compliance and risk

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Compliance organization set-up:


•Promoting a strong culture of compliance, Anti-money laundering awareness and ethics across the organization


•Evaluate the efficacy of, continuously improve and develop Financial Crimes Compliance (FCC) systems & controls


•Evaluation of current and new requirements of the regulatory landscape and practical implication for the organization


•Draft, modify, and facilitate implementation of compliance related policies and procedures


•Draft and review regulatory compliance documentation


•Design and develop comprehensive compliance monitoring programs


•Develop/maintain effective systems and controls for FCC


•Develop a robust compliance program, its objectives and effectively provide leadership and implementation of training and monitoring programs


•Collaborate with the Head of Compliance and compliance team to ensure a robust compliance program and regulatory universe is in place


•Ensure the alignment of compliance, operational and business strategies and develop the risk appetite accordingly


•Conduct training on compliance, AML, and ethics whilst ensuring training is consistently conducted in the organization.


•Establish effective Data Protection controls and ensure confidentiality is embedded in the compliance function


•Establish and maintain record retention practices to evidence compliance adherence and records are easily accessible


•Prepare presentations & reports when and where required/on an ad-hoc basis for the (i) Head of Compliance (ii) Senior Management (iii) Relevant stakeholders

Monitoring and reporting:


•Identification and reporting of non-compliance with compliance/ AML and ethics, conflicts, anti-bribery requirements and providing corrective action


•Timely coordination with internal stakeholders to align with the organizational goals and assist in its overall targets & deliverables


•Provide reasonable assurance to the business that inherent/ residual risks are properly identified, managed, and mitigated where possible and conducting a comprehensive documented compliance risk assessment


•Prevent and effectively mitigate violations of legal, regulatory, and FCC policies


•Draft clear and concise reporting to senior management, governing body and Audit Committee on the effectiveness of internal systems and controls as well as deficiencies identified with corresponding corrective action proposed for remedial action


•Identify and interact with all internal and external stakeholders/ regulators


•Maintain and periodically review the regulatory universe applicable to the organization


•Drafting of all compliance reports and ensure matters are effectively articulated and include all relevant aspects


•Drafting of periodic compliance reporting on compliance and AML to senior management/ governing body


•Ensure regular compliance/AML matters are consistently communicated with direct reports, business and senior management to create awareness and embed a compliance culture


•Reporting of any FCC/AML/Sanctions breaches to Head of Compliance

Lead the Compliance Process:


•Serving as a line of defense to effectively protect the organization from financial, legal or reputational damage


•Serve as a point of contact with stakeholders and regulatory bodies

Min of 10+ years of experience in compliance.

What you'll be doing

We are seeking a dynamic Vice President to oversee our Fashion brands within the Joint Venture (JV) vertical. Reporting to our President – Joint Ventures, the VP of Fashion JVs will be responsible for the smooth and efficient oversight of all Fashion brands within our JV portfolio. You will drive high performance and growth, while leading in a collaborative manner with the Fashion brand leadership teams. Your focus will be on protecting the best interests of Chalhoub Group and creating value for the brands.

Our JV portfolio includes partnerships with Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Fendi, Loewe, Celine, Givenchy, Berluti, Kenzo, Christian Louboutin, Marni, Maison Margiela, Jil Sander, Zimmermann, MaxMara, MaxMara Weekend, and Marina Rinaldi.

This role will involve close interactions with senior management of our Fashion brands and the JV management leadership team to achieve business vision, operational and financial results, and implement strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Governance & Strategy: Implement effective governance, manage JV Board meetings, oversee brand strategies, P&L, and ensure compliance with shareholder agreements.
  • Value Creation: Partner with brand leadership to drive business development, optimize P&L, and maximize shareholder returns. Support growth, cost efficiency, and capital planning.
  • Business Development: Lead the identification and development of new JV opportunities, including business plan preparation and shareholder agreement negotiations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with GMs, Managing Directors, and global brand leaders, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Financial & People Management: Collaborate with finance teams on budgets and financial performance. Lead recruitment and talent management for senior roles within the JV brands.
  • Strategic Leadership: Contribute to the long-term vision and strategy of JV management, ensuring the sustainability of Fashion brands in the Group, and advise on key commercial and strategic issues.
What you'll need to succeed

We seek an experienced, commercially-driven leader with a proven ability to navigate complex structures, collaborate across teams, and deliver exceptional results. You should have experience overseeing the GCC/Middle East region in a General Management or Managing Director role within luxury retail.
