What are my responsibilities?

  • Lead and manage the installation of railway signaling systems, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating all installation activities.

  • Ensure all installation activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of installation activities, including progress reports, inspection records, and as-built documentation.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a railway signaling installation manager or in a similar role.
  • Proven track record of managing the installation of railway signaling systems, including axle counters, point operating systems, balises, asset protection systems, interlocking and energy cubicles, OMCC and BOCC panels and video walls, Central & Local APS controllers, RFID / RHTM / ABD / DED, and cable infrastructures.
  • Knowledge on testing and commissioning of ETCS L2 railways systems / supporting T&C team
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SMO products is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.

  • You bring proven experience in ETCS projects and IXL systems, including installation of outdoor components (signals, axle counters, transponders, point machines) and indoor equipment (IXL cabinets, OCC workstations, VCPs).
  • You are proficient in a wide range of installation activities including cabling (laying, termination, meggering, ferruling, labeling of SIG cables) and containment systems.
  • You're experienced with punch list resolution, redline/as-built documentation, and technical interface coordination.

In this role you will work as a Project Execution Engineer for Siemens PTI business in the Middle East and will be based in Abu Dhabi. While executing the projects for local market, you will also actively support the PTI business growth and execution through interaction with different regions in the Middle East.

  • Conduct power system studies involving load flow analysis, short circuit calculations, protection coordination, arc flash and harmonic analysis using PSS SINCAL, ETAP or any other equivalent software
  • Can perform power quality measurements using Fluke or other devices and studies for industries and power utilities.
  • Experience in performing protection coordination studies along with unit protection like motor protection, transformer protection, line protection, CT / VT sizing calculations
  • Solid competency in report writing with proficient interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills

  • Have basic knowledge about Solar and battery energy storage systems and their interconnection requirements to the grid

Job Description summary: Siemens Smart Infrastructure focuses on Digital Portfolio solutions that connect energy systems, buildings, and industries to create occupant-friendly, energy-efficient environments. This role is within the Electrification and Automation Business Unit as an Automation Engineer, working to re-imagine solutions and contribute to a smarter world.

Responsibilities
  • Proficiency in control and protection drawings for protection and control systems.
  • Knowledge of various control schemes, including SAS architecture/schemes.
  • Coordinate with primary/protection equipment control vendors, FAT, IFAT, and commissioning activities.
  • Prepare AC/DC load calculations, system load calculations, and availability/reliability calculations for automation systems.
  • Familiarity with international standards (IEC, ANSI, etc.).
  • Understand a broad range of automation solutions and cybersecurity standards/policies in utilities (e.g., TRANSCO, ADDC, AADC, DEWA, SEWA, OETC).
  • Prepare block diagrams, functional design specifications, signal lists, BOQs, hardware/software selection, and other configuration-related documentation for automation solutions.
  • Expertise with Siemens parameterizing tools (DIGSI, PAS, SCC, SDM, REYDISP, PQS, TBII, etc.).
  • Networking expertise for automation solutions.
  • Interoperability testing with automation systems, protection relays, and asset monitoring/management systems.
  • Conduct FAT for automation systems and cybersecurity solutions.
  • Provide technical support for pre-bid and post-bid inquiries.
  • Coordinate, train, guide, direct, and manage a small team of support engineers from a common resource pool when needed.
  • Knowledge in process bus, microgrid, and PPC is an added advantage.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronics or Electronics and Communication or equivalent).
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in Electrical Substation Automation.
  • Cybersecurity related certification is an added advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; diligent, team player, self-motivated.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Today, we are recruiting for an Installation Manager to join our team in UAE. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility Middle East.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Lead and manage the installation of railway signaling systems, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating all installation activities.
  • Supervise and guide teams of installation technicians and subcontractors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and support during the installation process, troubleshooting issues and ensuring compliance with design specifications.
  • Liaise with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and address any concerns.
  • Being able of reading project drawings, able to make quantification study from project documents (calculate required material quantity) and coordinate with Procurement +logistics department for ensuring correct and timely material delivery,
  • Prepare the required documents for installations (e.g. method statements)
  • Ensure "safety first" policy and mentality in the workplaces (Siemens EHS policies, of course)
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Ensure all installation activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of installation activities, including progress reports, inspection records, and as-built documentation.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a railway signaling installation manager or in a similar role.
  • Proven track record of managing the installation of railway signaling systems, including axle counters, point operating systems, balises, asset protection systems, interlocking and energy cubicles, OMCC and BOCC panels and video walls, Central & Local APS controllers, RFID / RHTM / ABD / DED, and cable infrastructures.
  • Knowledge on testing and commissioning of ETCS L2 railways systems / supporting T&C team
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SMO products is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English.
