Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Procurement Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will play a vital role in ensuring the timely and efficient procurement of goods and services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, scheduling, initiating, monitoring, and quality assurance of all procurement and contract activities. You will also provide information for strategic planning to ensure the company operates profitably.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage computerized procurement systems, including screening requisitions, material procurement, receipts, physical inspections, stacking, maintaining minimum and maximum levels of critical items, and maintaining all procurement documents.
- Interface with cross-functional departments for budgeting and planning funds for procurement and sourcing materials to ensure optimum utilization and maximum cost savings.
- Negotiate contractual terms and conditions with suppliers.
- Analyze costs, forecast, and recognize reports.
- Develop ICV improvement plans with third-party expenses.
- Understand material movement procedures and QA/QC requirements.
- Process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment, follow up on payments and receivables, and participate in developing specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials.
- Coordinate with suppliers, develop RFP and RFQ documentation, and liaise with vendors to ensure contractual terms and conditions are met.
- Monitor and analyze new product and supplier initiatives to increase cost efficiency.
- Devising efficient logistics management systems to ensure delivery of goods/shipping as per committed timelines and cost.
- Preparing MIS reports of inward/outward logistics and apprising top management of routine inventory management activities.
- Developing long-term partnerships with suppliers, managing day-to-day supplier performance, and coordinating with suppliers for new product development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation).
- Affinity with engineering procurement and contracting aspects in oil & gas, power, and infrastructure projects.
Additional Information:
- Five years of experience in procurement or related field.
- Two years or more experience in UAE or Middle East.
- Minimum two years as procurement or buyer in similar business or industry.
- Ability to work in multi-disciplinary and multicultural teams.
Skills and Professional Requirements:
- Good networking skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, data analysis, superior organizational skills, good negotiator, and financial analysis skills.
- Knowledge of supply management software (database management, inventory management, financial analysis, procurement project management, enterprise resource planning, and general office programs) ERP solutions; Oracle SAP.
Attributes and Behaviours:
- Strong working knowledge from principals/OEMs/manufacturers or with distributors.
- Experience and knowledge of global shipping and logistics management and INCO terms.
- Experience with ERP solutions; Oracle SAP.
- Strong demand planning & forecasting experience.
- Proven working experience as senior buyer or procurement officer.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques and market dexterity.
- Excellent personality with strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office products specifically Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
