1. Diploma or Certificate in Medical Transcription with typing speed of 70-80 wpm.
2. Basic knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, disease processes, signs, symptoms, medications, and laboratory values.
3. Familiarity with medical transcription guidelines and practices.
4. Proficiency in English usage, grammar, punctuation, style, and editing.
5. Able to use designated professional reference materials.
6. Able to operate word processing equipment, dictation, and transcription equipment, and other specified tools.
